Kong is dead, long live Kong....

Well, as most of you knew, today was Kong's last day....what you could NOT have known, unless you were there, was that the Big Ape was drawing 45min-1hour lines, and that the "post-closing rides" were stacked up past 10pm when we got in line at 6pm....well, needless to say, my last ride on Kong was about 3 weeks ago....wasn't waiting that long for a ride I didn't really like in the first place....they did give out Kong keychains to all passholders....

Now, the "good news". In talking with a park employee, I mentioned sorta off-handedly "YOU know what's going in there"....Her reply was a smirk...O-kay, gotcha! Apparenly Hanna-Barbera is also turning over the Flinstones, along with one other attraction (she thought Hitchcock, but wasn't sure....since I'd heard that before, I'd believe it....I really liked "Hitch", and his movies are still unmatched for suspense....but it was time)...well, given the list of buildings, I surmised "IF there's gonna be a coaster, Kong is the building for a coaster, only one big enough"....well, similar smirk...."What kind of coaster" she asks, as if to say "What do YOU know about it"...I told her I thought it was gonna be an indoor launched like RnRC, highly themed to "the Mummy", probably an Intamin design.....

I missed at least one item based on her reaction....what'd I miss....anyone got any other guesses....for any of the "coming attractions....

I think the Jimmy Neutron attraction is replacing Hanna Barbera (could be done w/ little visual makeover to the set inside), and the Shrek movie is going in the place of Hitchcock. They still need to do something w/ the old Murder She Wrote bldg. Do they use it for anything anymore?

I went on Kong on Friday since I didn't want to battle the crowds. My friend did and she got a Kong backscratcher as the season pass gift. She also said the line for Kong Photos was almost an hour! I never thought there'd ever be a line for that!

'Tuan, now why would ANYONE want to get rid of a "perfectly good" SLC....ROFL, I bet you could search the forums for the words "perfect" and SLC, and NEVER come up with a match....until now....;)

HAHAHA At least we know astroworld wont be getting this orange beauty.....But Great Escape might.....
