Check out the interview with Jack Falfas on Westcoaster.
Vertigo press release is out.
In last paragraph of interview, Jack makes reference to new attraction borrowing from Millennium Force.

Probably not, but Jack did say they would have to top SFMM.

When I left Cedar Point, we had just started the Millennium Force project… at that point we knew it was going to be a three-hundred footer and some of the original design elements are actually being borrowed here
Intamin - hyper - bigger than Supermen, probably around the 240' mark - probably will use elevator cable lift hill to reduce noise
That's my prediction and that's all it is, just a prediction.

I think and hope VF gets Vertigo in challenge park because they could use another new thrilling ride. There is plenty of room in challenge park for it. The only good ride we have in there is the ripcord
Allright, it's NOT A HYPER. It's not an impulse. It's Intamin, has sand in the tracks, and borrows an aspect of MF, probably meaning it will include an overbanked turn. The park still wants a hypercoaster, but they're not getting it for 2002. Everything different from that you hear, is just a guess.
My 'guess'? You'll see inversions from Intamin, with very cool trains to sit in...

What's next at Knott's? Anyone know?

I can't believe SFMM and Knott's are both getting the Vertigo attraction. Knott's was going to build a skycoaster, but they couldn't because SFMM already had one. They bought the rights for the skycoaster within a certain mile range, and Knott's was in it. I guess not this time. If that is the case I really want SFMM to get the Turbo drop and Space drop tower. It is currently my favorite free fall ride. I hope SFMM is out of the rights range Knott's bought for the turbo drop. I know Disneyland isn't.
Well, I guess we'll all see when it's announced.

My guess is the Vertigo issue was over naming rights. That and SFMM doesn't have the city approval issues that Knott's has. CP's and SFMM probably shipped the same day.

Thanks Skyboss. Do you think SFMM will ever get a turbo or space shot? Just give me your opinion.
It was renamed Vertigo because CP's is named that, it had nothing to do with SFMM.
Not to pull a Jeff here though, let's not be bitter. :) We're all looking forward to the announcement, but I think we're all sure it's Intamin, and it's Jack Falfas. That assures us we will not be dissapointed.

My guess is no, in a round about way they already have one in the form of Superman, but you never know. Disney has the space shot and Knott's has the drop. I'm curious to know what all went on with this Vertigo issue. Seems odd all three parks are behind the summer curve on the additions. Either the ride wasn't ready or there were naming rights issues.

It is most likely a dumb decision for Magic Mountain to install a Turbo Drop or Space Shot tower.
Supreme Scream @ Knott's is already very popular with the market and everybody knows about the ride. Let's not forget that it is currently the tallest ride S&S has built so far. I don't think Magic Mountain will toss in $10 million (Yes, that's how much Supreme Scream costed Knott's) for a ride that can be experienced just a few miles south...the S&S VertiGo sling-shots do not sport a large price tag to be built and erected and do not consume the large amounts of power and air compression as the actual TB and SBs do.
While I am somewhat dissapointed that the new ride was a pay attraction, I pretty much saw it coming. But if it has to be something to pay for, it might as well be an S&S.
Hopefully this will end up being the opening chapter of big announcements for Knotts this Summer.

Thrillrider247,
Don't forget about their mini golf and go cart track man! If VF does build an inverted for next year I'd be suprised to see them build a Vertigo. I wouldn't be suprised if they built one for 2003 though.
Closed topic.
