We typically purchase our CP season passes on closing day, but we're going to California in Feb. It would actually be a better deal to get the KBF pass for $109 then pay the $85 at CP and then drop $42 for a one day admission to KBF. However, the KBF website dosen't mention if their pass is good elsewhere.
Can anybody help me out?

Actually, I believe you can use your 2002 CF pass up until April 1st, (thats what it was in 2001) so you don't even need to worry about tickets. I did that lastyear for my cali trip for winer coaster solace, but I still bought a Knott's pass anyway just cause they were so pretty and I never use Soak City. The only thing that you'd be "missing out" with purchasing a Knott's pass instead of a CP pass would be the Joe Cool Club stuff. Either way you'll be fine.
IMO, If I was in your position I'd still buy the CP pass and then use this years pass at Knott's in february.

If the park's websites are not clear, why not call the park and get the info, especially since you're getting different answers here.

Boy, am I a bone head! I never looked at the expiration date on my CP season pass. It expires on 5/1/03. I just assumed it was like Six Flags...
And I didn't call the park because it's a toll call and I'm a cheap bastard. ;)
Thanks for the help, people!

Chaindog - by chance, is 5/1/02 the date you purchased your season pass? Unlike Six Flags's season passes, which always expire Dec 31st no matter when purchased, Knott's passes [and I'd assume passes from all CF parks] are valid for one year from date of purchase.

This is from the CP Webpage:
"All Passes issued at seasonal parks are valid from May 1 of the year of issuance to April 30 of the following year."
I bought and redeemend my CP SP before Opening Day last year, and my pass says "expires 5/1/03."
So, if I were you, I'd take my current CP SP to KBF and use it, and get another CP SP. Just my opinion.

If you buy a Knotts pass you'd have to buy parking at CP each time you go.
Not true, you could just buy a parking pass for Cedar Point without buying your pass there. They do have that option. I think the only park in the CFLP chain where that is not possible is WOF - they only have passes put on your pass - they did away with the stickers completely.

I'm glad I don't have to worry about parking at Dorney since it is included with a season pass.:)
