Knott's Scary Farm 10/20/01

Associated parks:
None

Well, I arrived at the park at 5pm for the Pre-Scare dinner and was not surprised that the park had already sold out!!! I knew it would be crowded, but I have never seen soo many people in one place. I felt like an Asian tourist following thos giant signs where ever you go (the maze and ride lines were so long, you had to find the entrance to the lines to the mazes half way around the park where a person is holding a gaint sign). To give you a little idea of how crowded it was, the line for Malice in Wonderland started all the way over by the Coasters Diner and used the bumper car queue. Just another important side note, I went with one other guy and four girls.

Now on to the trip report :
Ghost Rider - 10/10
Ghost Rider has been so great as it was last night. It was faster than ever and provided unearthly airtime. I have never experienced Ghost Rider when it was riding soo well. It was already my top coaster but now it is in a league of its own.

Army of the Underworld - 7/10 (Mine Ride)
The theming in the end of the ride where they usually have all the miners working in the pits looked great with all the ghosts flying around. There was one great monster who ran after our train for awhile (we were siting in the back), but nothing was too scary. The girls in my group screamed every time something moved, so that was quite funny. The annoying spider web stuff that falls on you was really stupid. I had no clue what it was.

Malice in Wonderland - 6/10
The 3-D does not do a whole lot in improving the maze, but it was neat with the 3-D effects. The maze was clever, but there were not many people trying to scare you.

Red Moon Massacre - 4/10 (Log Ride)
I really thought this one was lame. The logs move too fast for anyone to be able to scare you. Plus, there was little theming and very few guys working on the ride.

Big Foot Rapids - 1/10
I hate riding water rides at night and I hate getting wet on water rides at night (that is why I gave it such a low rating). Plus, I was forced to go on it twice!!!! I was about to shoot someone.

Lore of the Vampire- 8/10
This maze was short, but I felt the talent was the best. The guys did not really look like typical vampires that I have seen.

Carnival of Carnivorous Clowns - 6/10
I was not too impressed with this maze for one reason. It looked like just a bunch of hallways with paint splattered all over the walls. It was definitely get a 9/10 or possibly perfect score if theming was improved to make it seem like you are in a fun house or circus or something like that. The clowns were good but not too scary (just scary enough to make it fun).

I was really expecting more monsters to haunt the streets and get more scares. My favorite monster was right after we got out of the Lore of the Vampire. We sat down and one of the monsters would not leave us alone trying to scare us (he scared the girls a few times).

I had to leave too early, so I could not experience anymore, but I would go again if the crowds were lighter and there were some improvements.

It would be easier to read the trip report if you had spaces between the paragraphs.

Current Favorite Coasters:
1)Raging Bull 2)Millennium Force 3)Medusa (SFMW) 4)Vertical Velocity (SFGAm) 5)Dueling Dragons (Ice)

I also hate water rides.  Only when its really hot are they worth it.
