Knott's Layoffs

I heard some rumors that Knott's Berry Farm has layed off as many as 30 people, some of them long-time employees. Can anyone confirm?
They were all monsters from Knott's Scary Farm. I guess they didn't need them this time of year! :)
Cedar Fair... cutbacks? Oh my close this thread! Delete it! It is against the TOS of CedarFairCanDoNoEvil.com (aka coasterbuzz.com) and we can't have this exposed! Seriously, businesses lay people off all the time, not a big shocker. Is there any evidence to support this specific rumor besides "I heard?"
Yes there were layoffs, but in reality they were positions that had been pretty much phased out. Cedar Fair kept a lot of people that they probably should not have when they first purchased the park. Knott's had many full-time employees that did the same jobs, and after a long period, it became apparent which positions required more than one person and which did not.

Times are tough everywhere...and I think that Cedar Fair was smart in the way that they have handled these recent layoffs. It could have been much worse if they did not spend a great deal of time looking at the bottom line.

I am not saying they are wrong for laying off people but it would have been nice if they didn't do it a month before Christmas.

I was layed off in November of 1995, right before Christmas. A company, ANY company will do what is in their best interest. You cannot fault KBF or CF for letting redundant jobs go away.

I just hope it is not a telltale sign of future problems.

I agree with TDesign, most of these jobs probably could have been eliminated not too long after Cedar Fair took over. In fact, I am sure that was the plan from the beginning. I am just saying that what harm is there in waiting another month and a half?

They probably laid off a lot of the petting zoo employees, transfering a few of the good ones to Rides and such.
