Just went to Knott's yesterday with my entire family. Granted, it's a Wednesday and yes, it's during Christmas Vacation, but.... The place was freaking' packed.
It's an annual trip for us. We always go mid week before or after Christmas and I haven't seen Knott's like this in 10 years. Check out these stats...
Ghost Rider... 2 Hours at one point, generally 1 hour (Usually 45 mins. midweek).
Montezumas Revenge... 45 Minutes until about 9:00 pm and it dropped to 20 (Usually about 10-15).
Boomerang... 45 Minutes all day (Usually 10-15).
Supreme Scream... 45 Minutes all day (Usually 25).
Jaguar... 1 Hour at one point! 30 min average. (usually walk on).
Plunge... 15 minutes AND IT WAS COLD!
The kicker.... Kingdom of the Dinosaurs... 25 Minutes! (WHAT???)
Log Ride... 30 Minutes until about 6 PM when the temp droppped.
I would say it's going to be a very good quarter for Knott's. The kicker in all this... See the Rumor Page....

Oh my freekin' head!
I'm not trying to down this park, but what makes it so good?!
It has boomerang,
wooden twister,
shuttle looper,
two baby coasters,
a racer,
and I will admit that Perilous Plunge sounds cool (when its open)

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it's the GhostRider! ;) Also has Ghost Town, a great Log Ride, Calico Mine Ride, (not a coaster) it's just an all around great park! Did I mention GhostRider?
BTW, GR is a double out-and-back in an "L" shape. Somewhat of a hybrid of out & backs AND twisters.

Think Knott's is busy? Disneyland was so busy that they stopped letting people in midday. This hasn't happened in four years. Hymmmm, wonder where all the people who couldn't get in to Disneyland went?

Life consists of two kinds of people, those who accept, and those who sit back and cry...
Actually Simcoaster, It's happened the last few years. And Skyboss, when do you go to Knotts? Anytime I have been midweek (not counting holiday season) Ghostrider is 5 mins or less. I assume you are comparing past Christmas seasons huh? And why couldnt Calico be a rollercoaster? It used gravity and has a lift. I realized that yesterday.

Say no, to lap bar nazis!
Calico Mine Ride has an engine that pulls the train through most (if not all) of the course. I am not sure if gravity actually powers the train through the "blasting" section of the ride or not. Besides, arent there enough threads about certian California rides being roller coasters or not? ;)
Now that the Knott's Merry Farm thing is over I am looking foreward to walking on Ghostrider again. Whenever the park is only open until 6:00 pm, that is a good day for Ghostrider (and all other rides) to be walk-ons. Ghostrider: 90+ minute waits between Christmas and New Years, YUCK!!
