Knott's Boomerang stalls in cobra roll

Posted | Contributed by sfmmlord

The Boomerang at Knott's Berry Farm stalled out in the middle of the cobra roll, between inversions. Riders were walked down from there, where catwalks had been installed on similar models all over the world a few years ago.

Read the boring details on The Orange County Register.

Man, seems like they are having alot of problems with boomers.

I hope I'm not on one of the Deja-vu's when this happens! I'm sure it will. Maybe that's why Vekoma desighned it (them) so there's really not much of a "dip" in the cobra roll.

Ow! My lap bar IS down all the way.
At least no one, like, got hurt. ;)

Yes, but here's the irony: It's nearly the same incident only the train managed to climb all the way up into the roll. Hmmm... no smiling kids in neck braces on this one. What a shocker.

Wow, there have been a lot of weird things happening on coasters lately. Maybe "someone" is trying to tell us something...(X-Files Theme) Du du du du du du...

Seriously though...I've always avoided Vekomas because they weren't fun (why ride Serial Thriller when you can ride Batman with no wait?), now these recent problems are giving me even more reason...they need to step it up in their designs..
These kinds of things could ruin a world record attempt.
All the deja vu's are having problems...
Don't step into the Boomerangs, that coaster is a very, very old design, in 1981 the first Boomerang was built in Mexico, in SFM. The Ivertigo and the Super Boomerang are more safe.
Clarkbar's right about vekoma always having problems, even with their new flying dutchman's they had and still have problems and thats a new design and concept.
BUENA PARK Several visitors to Knott's Berry Farm were stranded about 10 minutes Friday when a roller-coaster car malfunctioned, leaving it stuck on the tracks.

Man, how negative they put it. Couldnt they just say, "Several visitors........... Friday when a coaster car stalled, leaving it stuck on the track". I think that would have been a better phrase

all about PKI
the Beasts` Den
This is really freaky. Two of the biggest parks in california have had some thing go wrong at their parks. First a women dies , and then the boomer rang gets stuck. I think Isami benladin is in with giovalanie and vekoma as an act of terrorism try to destroy the heart of america, amusement parks.
The FBI should start searching this right now !!!!
giovalanie??? he must have messed up if he's in it with that company....j/k
Ohh my gosh, right after I heard about the PKI incident, I was thinking if the train could have got stuck on the cobra roll!! And if the back part of the train may have been partly inverted sitll.

What the mo K!?!
I wouldn't call this one "earth shattering news"

The Goliath incident, I would
Isn't that the second time to happen on the Boomerang is the past two years?

"Riding High"

The Devils are going to get buried, by an AVALANCHE! Lets get it for Bourque!

What the heck is wrong with these boomerangs?!??!?? I guess perhaps the almighty coaster god is saying, no more boomerangs!! no more boomerangs!!! enough with the clones!!! :)
Who cares about this? It happens all the time on Boomerangs. It's not like the train was upside down or anything. The people just walked right off.
