WestCoaster.net is continuing the on-site coverage of the destruction of Windjammer. The ride is nearing the end of its short life with only part of the lift hills, drops and turnarounds left standing. Completion is expected for either the end of this week or early next week for the structural demolition.
Construction work for VertiGo has begun with footers ready to be poured for the new pay-per-ride attraction on the site of the old Haunted Shack.

It's funny to see a coaster get mangled up like the Windjammer is. Does the Windjammer deserve this beating? :)

Despite all of I've heard about it's reliability, I wish that Windjammer was actually running one of the times that I was actually at Knott's.
Didn't Knott's just paint the lagoon of Perilous Plunge blue, because it now looks white-ish.
What is this maze thing thats being built?

Craig: Yes, it deserves the beating.
Craver: The blue paint did fade pretty fast. It looks bluer in person, but I think they want to repaint it a darker shade. Sure wish they would paint the whole structure of the ride though, that gray looks bad. Powder blue would look much better, IMHO.
It would be nice If Knott's put a hypercoaster with the open land after the de-construction of Windjammer.

Not going to happen this year. Just ask Jim Disney, who has the inside poop. By the way, any one have an inkling about when Knott's is going to announce the new attraction?
Wow, hard to believe that in a few short months, we'll see a brand spanking new Intamin ride going in that area. How great it is to live in So-Cal right now.

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
All we need now is for Seaworld, Legoland, Soak City, and a couple small golf parks to put in CCIs. ;)

Yeeee Haaawwww!
There aren't many new Intamin Rides here in So-Cal, the newest is probably Superman: The Escape. I'm gonna go ride this thing the first week once it opens, whatever it is, will be, uhh...grammar check please?

I wonder who made California Screamin' at DCA. Oh yeah, it was Intamin, and it opened this year. :)
How did you forget that coaster! It's like my favorite coaster in SoCal! Hehehe...

"No listenin', you hear me?"
One fun little note about all this was that right after we left the park... we were on La Palma and looked over to see a couple people beating on one of the Red Windjammer trains with sledgehammers. That was great stuff...
