Knott's Berry Farm made the official announcement of their 2003 attractions Tuesday. Revolution, a Huss Frisbee, is slated to replace the Tampico Tumbler and Grand Slammer in Fiesta Village. Joe Cool's "GR8 SK8," will be from Interactive Rides. The park will also open a new 200-seat theater in the Camp Snoopy area of the park.

Wow Sounds Awesome... A park can never have too many flats... Smart move Knotts!

Yeah my homepark is in Albany, NY but I always have 12 hours to go to The Point!

I thought that the sky skater was an Interactive Ride. www.interactiverides.com I do know that interactive rides broke away from S&S, but did they develop it before they left?

The Sky Skater *is* from Interactive Rides. I've seen the ride sitting in the Knotts backlot and the IR logo is clearly visible on it. I'm sure whomever posted this news item got confused with the S&S Sky Swatter.

Frisbees are my favorite flat. Can't wait for fall, when I return after an 18-year absence.:)

Wait. A Sky Skater is just like a different swing on a see-saw? That looks kinda cool. I hope they get the Frisbee up and running quickly. I might go to Knott's for spring break and I'd LOVE to ride one. They look so awesome.

If it is Interactive Rides' Sky Skater, it's also not the first in the nation.

It's an awesome little ride, really. They just need to make them a bit bigger. Flying at the edge of that thing is a little unnerving. . . even if it's only about 15' to the ground.

Frisbee's are cool, but not as cool as the Tampico Tumbler they are losing. Hopefully that ride really shows up at another park.
I really hope this puts to death the rumor that there is bad blood between S&S and Cedar Fair.

Dispite the fact that various VP's of CF parks have publicly stated there is no rift and the CEO has even commented on it. The rumor has still lived on. It's now put to death..

Once again, the Sky Skater is from Interactive Rides, the Sky SWATTER is from S&S. Two completely different rides.

This is good news and bad news...while I look forward to seeing a Skater @ KCS-MOA by next spring, i certainly hope our Tumbler isn't going anywhere.

Whoops, as Moosh stated, I posted the wrong manufacturer for the Sky Skater. My bad!

I know its most likely a standard Frisbee, but what rules out the possibility of it being from Mondial, Intamin, Chance or KMG? I mean, those are all cup shaped vehicles (as much as a standard one is) and they alll swing from pendulems.
I'm glad that Knott's is getting a few new attractions, too bad I won't be able to experience the Frisbee as it appears to be a puke machine.

As for the Sky Skater, do you think a capacity of 200 pph is decent? I'm not too sure what the other Camp Snoopy attractions are, but that seems rather low.

I guess a frisbee is a fair replacement for Tumbler

It isn't so bad. . .
Once you're used to it

As much as I'd love to see The Revolution end up being one of the Frisbee-alikes (especially an Afterburner), the article's "cuplike" statement implies inward-facing seats with a floor to me.

Still, it doesn't specifically say Huss Frisbee, so we can hope :) (Even an actual Frisbee isn't a bad thing.)

Frankly I hope it *is* one of the inside-seating Frisbees. Seems to me you can spin much faster when forces are pushing you *into* a seat rather than *out* of it.

I suspect we'll know more by Solace, if not sooner.

Season pass for $59.95..... may need to have my sister buy me one, and then go visit her to process it before Cedar Point opens! It'd be cheaper, and I'd get to include a visit to somewhere warm!

Forgot to mention that I didn't feel remotely sick when I rode the frisbees at SFGAdv and SFNE.*** This post was edited by Nate 2/20/2003 4:45:53 PM ***

There are no amusement parks in Albany, NY.

The closest park is Hoffman's Playland in Latham.

The next closest park is in The Great Escape, about 55 miles north in Queensbury.

Also, I can make it to Cedar Point from the Albany area in less than 9 hours!

Awesome news. These is a great additions to the park. I absolutely LOVE Taz at SFMW, and I'm sure I'll like this. Sad to see the Tumbler go, but change is inevitable I guess. Whether it's from Huss or one of the other companies, it should be a great ride. I just wish it was ready for Solace. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be ready by late spring, when I can hopefully make it back down to So Cal. :)
