Knotts Advice:
1. Show up for opening, and go to Ghostrider first (it’s worth it but it’s the longest ride in the park.)
2. After that go through Ghost Town to the Calico Mine Ride, a completely amazing dark ride.
3. Then ride, and I’m not kidding about this, the Timber Mountain Log Ride as many times as you want before lines get long. This ride is the blueprint for Splash Mountain (and therefore Dudley Do Right too) it is amazing, and one of the best. What makes it even more impressive is this was only the second log ride ever built.
4. The rest of the park typically doesn’t have horrible waits, if Ghost Town Alive is going on, be sure to bum around Ghost Town and experience it, if it’s not we’ll still bum around Ghost Town. If Crazy Kirk and the Hillbillies are showing that day, see them, ride the train too.
As far as stuff around Knotts, there is another theme park 15 min down the road that you may have heard of founded by another Walt. I’d recommend going there too.
2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando
Get ready for some of the more horrible Cedar Fair operations, to be honest. I don't get how every other CF park can be operated so well, but Knott's is it's own little world it seems.
Ghostrider is certainly the star of the park and runs AMAZING with the new MF trains and retrack a few years back. But they stack like crazy and the line crawls. Go to it first like mentioned above. Easily in my top 3 woodies, it's just killer (if you can and able, ride at night...).
Really cool park otherwise! Just explore and you will find all the goodies.
Also to piggyback on Touchdown mentioning Disneyland... While I don't care for the Florida Disney parks much at all, I actually really dig the California duo (especially California Adventure!) if that is of interest. It's worth a visit if you got time/budget to do so.
Last note: Six Flags Magic Mountain isn't too far away, either... !

how do the seats on ghostrider compare to GCI seats?
Should be a decent match :p
There I answered him for you Kevin.
Also, while you are at Knott's, swing by Knoebels, they are just a short trip to the NE, shouldn't be too far out of the way ;)
There is another very small family park 1 mile away with a Family Boomerang that gives a substantial coaster club discount for Cre-hoes. (If you're into that sort of thing) https://rcdb.com/4712.htm
I usually don’t throw this out as a fist comment but Buy the front of the line pass.
if you want more than one ride on Ghostrider it will be required.
If you are referring to Adventure City, it's primarily a "family" park, and depending upon who's working the front gate, the likelyhood of being turned away is good. It's happened to my wife and I. The only time we were allowed in was for an event with ACE.
If I'm reading that right, Dutchman, you are saying that the park will turn you away, and not allow you to pay them money to ride Rewind Racers, if you are not accompanied by children?

We're definitely getting Fast Lane. I mean, first time to the park and the only day we will be there makes that a no-brainer for us (and who knows when we would be back). I'm also betting that early June is pretty busy.
I did notice that they list Xcelerator as a "closed ride". I wonder if this is a TTD related thing? I was hoping to get a feel for this one. No one mentioned it, but I'm also looking forward to Hang Time, wondering how it compares to the larger B & M dive-coasters.
Still debating between Disneyland and Knoebels...
Promoter of fog.
Xcelerator got paint and it looks great. I don’t think it’s closed because of TTD.
And I hope it isn’t because it’s a great ride, and in many ways it’s the best of that ilk.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Knotts, but I really liked it. I will say they have even more weird rules than Cedar Point, if you thought that was even possible. For instance, no eyeglasses whatsoever, sturdy strap or not.
In addition to Knoebels, I’d recommend Mrs Knott’s Chicken Dinner with boysenberry pie for dessert. You’ll wonder along with me why Cedar Point doesn’t have one, seems like they could.
Lost Kause, yes, the last time we were there that was exactly what happened. Frankly it's a kiddie ride park with a few rides that the parents can ride with their kids. Like I said, I've heard from some people that got in that didn't have kids. So an individual adult may or may not be allowed on property. It might be either an insurance or legal thing. The park rules are a PDF at the bottom of this page https://www.adventurecity.com/about/park-information/
I mean, I kind of understand, but they should have just built a dragon wagon instead of such an unusual roller coaster. Most enthusiasts would pay, ride a few times, maybe take a few photos, and be on their way.
If I ever get out that way, Rewind Racers was always something I was going to look for.

Maybe the owners didn't want to attract those people. You know the type...gravy-stained, satin jacket wearing hoodlums.
Although I agree, they should have built a Dragon Wagon. Everyone should build a Dragon Wagon.
When a friend and I went in 2018 the ticket seller at the entrance offered it to us. We had no idea and she said something like "If you're a member of a coaster club you can get in for (cheap price)" and that's what we did. Seems like a win-win. They got money that perhaps we wouldn't have spent at full price, we got credits (and a darn fine coaster in Rewind Racers) and were in and out in about 20 minutes, not really affecting attendance at all. Weird if they changed it.
