Knott's 3rd annual Winter Coaster Solace includes industry's big names

Posted | Contributed by James Disney

Great ERT, good friends and chicken dinner made for another excellent Winter Solace at Knott's Berry Farm for hundreds of enthusiasts. ERT in the morning on all of the park's popular rides, night time ERT on Ghostrider and speeches by industry leaders like Denise Dinn-Larrick (CCI), Steve Okamoto (formerly of Morgan), Stan Checketts (S&S Power) and Sandor Kernacs (Intamin) were among the highlights.

A construction update for Xcelerator and Disneyland Resort's construction projects has also been posted.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

There was a juicy tidbit released at the reception by Jack Falfas: "If you think Xcellerator is going to be [fun] come back in January of 2004" or words to that effect. That's all he said, and the entire room collectively gasped and the guessing game began: Morgan? Intamin? Dynamic Designs? CCI? S&S?

As you can see, my t-shirt made it into the update. I was sad that I couldn't meet some of you at Solace, maybe CoasterCon?! Over at AmericaCoasters.com there is a video on the last page of the update of us having the time of our life at Solace.

Solace was great! I got a lot of rides on everything in the park. The speakers were very interesting. That ERT on Ghostrider at night was the greatest!

Can't wait for next year's and ERT on Xcelerator!
