I've got a guy at work who tells me the same story about the wild mice...he just doesn't trust hairpin turns. Having seen him drive, I guess I understand... ;)
Haha! That reminds me of the time a few years ago I was at Knoebels with my niece. Although it was near closing time, she insisted on one more ride on Phoenix in the FRONT SEAT. Well, the train stopped just short of the top of the lift. So, under a nearly full moon, I explained to a scared 9-year old without getting too geeky why we weren't going to fall back down the hill backwards. Ah, memories.
As I recall, the rest of the ride was one of the quickest I ever remember Phoenix running. And my niece's oath never to ride in the front seat again lasted until the next time she was at the park.
It might be a hijack but I spent a few minutes Saturday on Diamondback consoling a couple children and their mother as we sat on the lift hill. They stopped us while going up the hill because someone pulled out a cell phone, op made an announcement to put it away. Then we sat there for a while. Not many people were happy with said idiot. Then all of a sudden we hear "Diamondback is down for minor technical issues." So as the people around me started freaking out I calmly explained we'll be ok there is no way the train is going anywhere, without explaining all the geeky stuff. They relaxed as I explained it's totally safe and we'd get to complete our ride when the minor issue was corrected.
