Knoebels Skyride is open!!!

I was at Knoebels on Saturday (grand opening) for the sky ride. It's a great addition to the park. for the first two hours of operation all profits (donations) went to a charity. I figured you would be able to overlook the entire park but you can only get a good view of the Giant Wheel, Skloosh and Downdraft. The rest of the park is not visible because of the trees blocking the view.

The Super Round Up is running too. I actually thought I was gonna get sick on that one.

Not much else going on at the park. I did see a few good mulletts though. \m/

Great news -- I'll have to make sure to hit it during PPP this year.

I think it's great how they donate to charity. More parks should do that.

Is the Rockin' Tub operating? That's a good idea to donate that money to charity.

If you can't beat your computer at chess, try kickboxing.

I took some pics but have to take a few more to kill off the roll. I really need to get a digital camera. Developing, scanning, cropping, and uploading is just a pain.

The Rockin tug has been open since opening day another great ride.

Carrouseler, I think many parks do donate to charity in a variety of ways. Just for example, SFGAm empties their reflecting pool periodically (which doubles as a wishing well) and all the coin goes to charity. And looking at how much coin is in there and having a family member in banking, I can tell you that's a good amount of money.

Warning: I do not think like the average person. My remarks have plenty of thought behind them. Take it for what it's worth, if you disagree, please, feel free to express it, but don't put me down because of it.

I agree about the tree part. While I like the idea that Knoebels is nestled in the woods, part of me wishes they would top some of the trees to the left (as you descend) of the Sky Way to give a better view of the park.

You can get a decent view of Twister on the way up if you look over your right sholder, but the glimpses are few and far between on your way back down... and Phoenix is completely hidden from view.

When you are travelling up the "mountain" it doesn't seem that you are very high in the air. The supports are (I would guess) no more than 50ft high. But on top, after you turn around and look down the hill side and see the park 300+ feet below you (according to the girl taking tickets)... well, not a fan of heights, my stomach dropped and my grip tightned on the bar. Not sure which was worse for me... seeing the hill drop away the way it did, or crossing the road with traffic passing by underneath.

I think its the highest priced attraction in the park at $3.00 (and not included in any POP wrist bands). Is this going to be the standard price, or might this drop or be included in the POP plans once the sky ride is paid for?

Someone asked about "Rockin' Tub". Its running. While not the most thrilling, it is good for a laugh. People who have a problem with equilibrium may want to stay away from this. If you sit in the bow or stern you get the full effect of the rocking motion... if you sit in the middle I assume you are basically spinning in place. It can make you a little dizzy (but not as dizzy as the nearby Down Draft)

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"
