Our weekly free alternative has a two-page article on Knoebels in its Sizzling Summer issue. Call me shocked. Check out this quote [in reference to Hersheypark] "It doesn't matter if you are a rider or not a rider, we're not going to pop you for $40 just to walk in," he says. "If you're looking for the giant thrill rides, we're not the place for you. If you're looking for a family outing in a beautiful setting, we're a fine place."--Joe Muscato, spokesman for the park.

That's a great quote. I couldn't agree more. :)

That applies to theme parks in general, not just Hershey. And it's completely true. Go Knoebels.

Intamin Fan - - -> Is there a possible on-line link? I would love to see the actual article.
Driving from Baltimore to Knoebel's is quite a drive for most non-geek peeps. For them to be mentioned in a Baltimore newspaper is a nice tip of the hat under the gusie of a feature article writer "who knows."
I also like the quote a lot.

No problem. Local alternative weeklies like that almost always have all the content on the web. It is indeed a fairly knowledgeable article. There was a similar one a year or two ago in the Washington Post about Knoebel's. It's a bit of a haul, but it's definitely worth it.
I'd be inclined to take that quotation (from the end of the article) as more of a dig on POP parks overall than specifically at Hershey--though Hershey is the closest such park to Knoebel's. *** Edited 5/25/2007 8:06:02 PM UTC by prabe***

Why don't they attack the food pricing at the big parks as well. KG continues to stand up against the pricing that dominates in the big parks.
