Wow, that water was moving really fast. No wonder the damage was so extensive. I assume they have contingency plans in place for this sort of thing, but it's going to be a tough winter for them.

I'm wondering if "closed this weekend" will extend to the rest of the season. If I were in their spot, I know I'd be calling it, and focusing on restoration.
Wow. Sad situation. Wish them the best.
I was planning my first ever trip to Knoebels for Phunfest in October. Fingers crossed.

Wow knoebels got hit pretty hard but Hershey park looks pretty bad to.

Can't speak for them, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were open by PPP if not sooner. Of course, there's a lot of structural inspection to be done, so who knows what the full extent of damage is. But, I think they're going to make the effort to do as much as they can possibly do to get things back up and running.
Now that I see Hershey underwater, I wonder if there is flooding at Dorney Park (the lower half, of course).

Possibly, but it looks like there's a lot of washed out pavement. I really want to see them back up and running before then, but this is pretty bad.
At least Kozmo's still my friend on Facebook.
Face book pictures now are up of the start of the cleanup. Lot of washed out paths... who knows what the damage to buildings and ride motors etc is.
Just because....Knoebels has flooded MANY times - yes, this is the worst since Agnes in '72, but there is no park in America better suited or equipped to deal with this level of damage. While I would completely understand if they were to "call off" the remainder of the season, their postings indicate an expectation to be operational SOON. "Closed this weekend for repairs and clean-up" makes me think they might even expect to be open NEXT weekend.
What amazes me is Knoebels opens time and again after this sort of thing. People bash em for not having the 25 million dollar ride or taking two or three years on a project but this park sets up, takes down, rebuilds after floods. This time twice this year. By THEMSELVES. No doubt a significan't portion of Profit has to be put away to deal with this, And in a case like this year. I doubt there is any profit at all.
THANK YOU!
You gotta believe every bit of food in the park is bad, many of the buildings need new dry wall, floors and even replaced. Many of the benches and tables destroyed. Ect. ect. ect.
Best wishes to all these parks. Did you see the shot of Great Bear in Comet hollow? WOW!

I haven't heard any mention that there was. I don't even recall seeing Lehigh County mentioned in any of the flood warnings. Most of the heavy rain was to the west of them, more in line with the Susquehanna River. There was flooding along the Delaware River, but that was mostly from rain falling upstream in NY.
