Knoebels Coaster 2004????

The rumor I heard is the Whirlwind is leaving along with the parking lot by the Phoenix and the small lot behind the Whirlwind.

In that area there is plenty of room for a nice sized woody but are those 2 houses in the way for it?quote]

The closest building in the way is the game building and they can't tear it down unless they build another. The other building is, what most people call it is Grandma's house. Believe its either Dicks or Buddys mother, but I aint sure. Anyhow, if you take them two buildings out and build on the parking lot, look at the space you got.

A thought just occurred to me. **shudder**

How big is the Clementon Lake Park Jack Rabbit's footprint? I'm not really familiar with it's terrain usage either, but it looks like it could fit in that area. Perhaps Knoebels can save another coaster from rotting? :)

-Steve, who's not even sure if another park bought it already, but will toss out a theory anyway. ;) *** Edited 6/15/2004 3:23:42 PM UTC by MarimbaGuy87***

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.

Perhaps they'll be getting some new diving boards too. ;)

Jack Rabbit footprint is pretty small. Has not been sold yet, to my knowledge. It's not a terrain coaster at all. Why did you shudder, it's a great coaster and would work great at Knoebel's. Unfortunately, Knoebel's doesn't want it...please...some park somewhere take this coaster. Don't let it fade into the history books.
From an article in the Courier Post:

Meanwhile, the park's original wooden coaster, the Jack Rabbit, one of the oldest wooden coasters in the country, is mothballed with no plans for its return.

Jack Rabbit, built in 1919 and designed by John Miller, last ran in 2002.

The old coaster will eventually be torn down, but a date with the wrecker is not eminent. Baker has offered the ride to the American Coaster Enthusiasts if they can cart it away.

Looks like he is willing to donate it is it can be hauled away. Don't blame him, it would save him in tear down costs.

Dick and Buddy are brothers....the house is the residence of thier aunt (the widow of Pete Knoebel). Don't expect the house to go anywhere for a while, at least not in her lifetime.

I wasn't "shuddering" at the fact of Knoebels getting it, I was shuddering at the fact that I had a thought. ;)
