I rode it in 1999. While I don't think Power Surges are all that, I do prefer them over the old AXIS. It may have looked like it "would kick all other thrill rides in the a@@", but it wasn't all that great. Actaully, it was kind of slow moving (at least on the day I rode it). If you liked hanging upside down for extended periods of time, you would like it. But if you liked speed and thrills... well... kind of boring in that department.
Personally, for upsidedown and spinning flat rides, I prefer Chaos rides over both AXIS and Power Surge (providing they don't break off of their mountings and go spinning away like the one did last year at Michigans Adventure... I think that was teh location).
The Mixer even at Old Town in Florida has been up for sale for 3 years, but they can't get rid of it... no one wants it.

The Mixer didn't look terribly appealing when I was in Old Town.
I watched it operate for a few cycles before opting not to ride. It just looked slow and dull. Though the motion was different, I likened it to Chance Inverter, which I also find to be a bit dull, despite looking neat.

If I'm not mistaking, Mixer is now located at Old Town in Orlando. Old Town has one of the same rides anyway. I have rode this ride once at both lacations and I really don't think highly of it. It was slow and sluggish.
I always find it very funny when the dude on the Discovery Channel makes such a big deal about the ride durring re-runs. It seems very misleading to feature smoke and lights to make the rides presentation flashey. I never saw these effects on the ride while at Kenobles.
"THIS RIDE IS INCREDABLE!!! IT HAS THE GREATEST SENSATION OF WEAGHTLESSNESS I'VE EVER FELT!!!" Yea whatever, buddy.
I'll sometimes sarcasticly do an impression of that guy refering back to that segment when I am dissapointed with a overhyped ride. it's a lot more fun than lieing about how great the ride is:)

Some may say inexpensive, some may say cheap. ;)
