Knoebels 7/1/08

This was our one year anniversary of being married on the Phoenix, so what better place to spend it than Knoebels?

We arrived at 10:45. After taking a lap in the front seat of the Phoenix, we headed off to the Crystal Pool. What a blast! I love the slides and diving boards. My only complaint is the kids working the slides are too busy socializing. If you wait for them to tell you to go, its like you are interrupting their conversation, and they don't pay attention and space people out enough, in my opinion.

Around 3:00 we headed to the Skloosh and took a lap on that. Then changed and ate an early dinner.

Dinner at the Alamo is awesome. Great food at good prices. Then we got the sundown special handstamp, and went crazy!

My ride counts are as follows:

Fandango 1
Antique Cars 1
Phoenix 16
Log Flume 1
Grand Carousel 1 (caught 18 rings)
bumper cars 1
Pioneer train 1
Twister 1
Skloosh 1

Many Happy Returns. And Re-rides too!
16? 16?!!! I've always been curious about this: How does one get married on a roller coaster? I mean, I know you can do a pretty short service these days, but that's gotta be SUPER short. :) Very cool that you did that though.

Thanks everyone. To answer the question how, we rented the coaster an hour before the park opened. Then we found a wedding party big enough to fill every seat on the coaster. We had the procession come up the off ramp, and we lined up along side the coasters, men on the loading side, women on the opposite, and me and my wife stood next to the front on the exit side. We had a quick 5/10 min ceremony with a JP, then it was you may kiss the bride, please keep arms legs and feet inside the train at all times..... DISPATCH! We even had two laps!

Dick Knoebel then gave us a ride around the park in a Just Married decorated antique car, and opened the Grand Carousel and pioneer train for pictures!

Oh, that is SO cool. I wish I wasn't already married. LOL Maybe we could do a vow renewal at Knoebels on the Phoenix. My husband might actually get a kick out of that.

I can't wait to go back to Knoebels...

I could just cycle between the Bumper Cars and Phoenix all day (maybe throw one flyer lap in there).

Happy anniversary and congrats on 16 Phoenix laps!
