Knoebel's

So maybe I should cancel my room and snuggle up next to you at your place then?

Nah...didn't think so ;)

Me neither, CPunk.

I'd offer youz all a bed, but next thing you know, you'll be expecting a pillow too.

We're planning on visiting on Sunday, August 14.

We've got a room booked at the Pottsville Motor Inn - it's about an hour from Knoebel's, and smack dab in the middle of Knoebel's and Dorney Park.

For all who've been, will one day [1PM -> close] be enough to enjoy Knoebel's, or will a return trip have to be taken?

You'll definitely enjoy Knoebels in that time span. Of course that's not nearly enough time to do everything in the park but you'll enjoy what you're able to experience.

A return trip is always necessary...I've been returning to the park 1-2x a year since 2000...and I live in Los Angeles...and I still have not seen or done everything!

Hey Dan... if you show up here, and I give you the official Seattle tour, does that mean I get room and board at your place come PPP? ;)

Sure, It doesn't matter to me. My place usually looks like a tornado blew thru it though. My decor is a cross between park/ music/ and horror stuff! so if you don't mind a severed head or two a Maiden, Cattle Decapitation, and a few other band posters and picture discs, and coaster crap. I don't mind! :)

Plus we can head to the bars and hit up some of that Wild Turkey we talked about a year or two ago!

Oh yea, I'm usually at Knoebels every Wendsday, Friday and Sunday from 6 till 10 at the Bumper Cars! Just look for the pierced dude beating the snot out of everyone!

Coaster crap? Severed heads? Band stuff?

Sounds like a blast to me! ;-)

Wow, no rooms at the inn? I should rent the spare rooms here out to desprate enthusiasts. I really do hope that I can go to PPP this year, but as usual work will probly keep me away. It seems like a blast, and would be a good way to unwind at the end of the season.

Real men ride wood... coasters that is!
^Me too, I live in Bloomsburg, roughly 20 minutes away...I could make a killing on enthusiast housing fees!

I was looking out for you this past Friday evening over at the the scooters but didn't see you. I did see Chris from GCI though. Bargain night rules. I really need to start getting up to the park more. Like once a week!

My band was playing so I had to miss Friday. I'll be missing this Friday as well for the same reason!

Only if I can get them to play at Knoebels!

I could just see you now, running from the band shell to the skooters between sets. Priceless!

Actually I have seen that happen before, but at a different park. :-P

Geez, grind, you're only going to be 2 miles away from me (for what that's worth). I should warn you though, the Motor Inn is on a stretch of divided (good old Jersey barrier) highway, so you'll have to do some extra driving getting in and out-- no left turns.

Are you staying overnight first, then doing the park, or the other way around? I could give you some driving tips to help you get around our little city.

Cpunk, your place sounds like your own personal dark ride. All you need is some cars and track. Or maybe an office chair will work too.

We're leaving early Monday morning, spending all day at the park and spending the night at Red Roof Inn in Danville. Tuesday we're going to the park, spending the day and coming home late that night.

Thanks for the tip about the highway! I know I would've been super-pissed after a day of driving [7 hours from Toronto to Knoebel's], a day of walking, and another hour of driving - only to find that I have to do even more! But now at least I know :P

And we're driving from Toronto, doing Knoebel's, and then driving to the Inn. Have you ever seen it and, if so, is it a dump?

There is no *super easy* way to get to Knoebels from any direction, but a 7 hour drive is worth it (that's about how far the park is from me as well).

I seem to remember a couple of friends staying at the Motor Inn and telling me is was pretty decent.....nothing to write home to mom about but it wasn't a dump.

Yeah, we're basically going to stay there for the night, have a shower, and then leave the next morning. So all we want is a clean, comfy bed, a decent shower, and not a ton of dirt/bugs. We're easy to please.

2005 visited: PCW, PKI, CP, MFI, MIA, Knoebel's, Dorney, Hershey, PKD, BGW, USF, IOA, BGT 2006 planned: Holiday World, Kennywood, Indiana Beach, SFKK, Lake Compounce, SFNE, La Ronde, Hershey, SFGAd. and more!
