Knoebel's '05 rides now have names

http://knoebels.com/whatsnew.htm

The frisbee is called "Fandango"

and the kiddie ride will be "Flying Tigers"

Are they giving away free movie tickets the first weekend or anything? Will they have the guy going "oo!" about the wild Fandango that will be loose? And last but not least, how much did Knoebels have to pay for that name and is it really worth it? ;)
I've seen video of that new Zamperla "Flying Tigers" kid ride, I must admit it is pretty cool. Gives a somewhat new spin on the classic whip. Granted I havn't been keeping up todate on the info for there new rides. But is there word on who there getting this frissbee from ?. It looks like the intamin make but i could be wrong.

"the only thing I know is that life is short and the only time you've got left is luck"
I wonder if they named the frisbee after me? After all I'm at Knoebels 3 times a week and I don't know of any bigger fans of Knoebels then me!. Fan-Dan-Go :)

I don't get the "go" part unless they are trying to get rid of me! :(

This may be too early. But does anyone know where the new rides will be located?
I believe I heard they both will be on the Whirlwinds site.

I must have missed this somehow.. is the Knoebel's frisbee a standard Huss Frisbee? (the inward-facing one)

Hey Cpunk! It's not that they want you to go. It's that old Japanese adage......... Power Fun Go! See? It works! ;)

No, this is the Moser version of the frisbee (see: Sidewinder at Adventureland).

Yea, thats it nasai. I probably paid for at least half that ride since about 98 when I started to go to Knoebels on a regular basis. :)

Maybe Fandango is a loose tribute to Dorney's Alfundo?

(see: Sidewinder at Adventureland).

Here you can see pictures of Adventureland's model. That should help you get an idea of how Knoebel's will look.

Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?
Thanks a bunch, RGB. Now I have that crazy song stuck in my head. ;)

Amazing what one line can do...

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.

Got a song stuck in your head? Here's an easy fix:

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs!"

See...now the song you had stuck in your head is gone ;)

Ugh. ;)

Well Marimba, I could have typed
"We skipped the light fandango turned cartwheels 'cross the floor. I was feeling kind of seasick, the crowd called out for more..." but you probably wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about. Actually I don't either, but at least I know the song it's from.

I could have also mentioned "Neil's Fandango" by the Doobie Brothers, which is neither a fandango nor contains the word in its lyrics. But I still think it's a cool song.

If anyone is interested, here is some footage of the Sidewinder that I shot this past summer to give you an idea of how this model runs.
