Knoebels - launches new updated website

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, Knoebels (www.knoebels.com) has a new, much improved look.

Information looks pretty similar to the last version, and there is no new Flying Turns info (other than a defined description) or pix yet, but the overall look is a major improvement.

Wow, I cannot believe how terrible the new site looks and I mean that honestly. The old site screamed old-fashioned traditional fun with a professional looking layout. The new page looks like any rank amateur park U.S.A. along with some really bad digital photos. The layout is terrible too. It's like they decided to dump the old company and use someone in house who has just started to use some crappy webpage design program like Frontpage.
I wouldn't say terrible. I prefer it over the old one. It's cleaner, albeit a lot "cornier." They were fishing for clip art that matched the page it seems, for instance the rates page...

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.
I like it and think it's fun. Only thing that really bothers me I guess is tha its not centered, don't know why it bothers me but, ah well. They went nuts with new pics and clip art though hehe. *** Edited 2/17/2006 3:38:51 PM UTC by P18***
I took a look again, and I still think it looks like it was done by someone who doesn't know a darn thing about webpage design or design in general. The page is completely out of whack when it comes to the vertical divisions, which is exactly why P18 is bothered by the page. Frames with important information shouldn't go on the right--they should be on the left since that's how most of the world's English speaking population reads--left to right. Another bad aspect of the new design is all the random clip art. It lends no identity to the park whatsoever.

If they were trying to save money to build the Flying Turns, then I'm all for the new design, but if they were just trying to save a buck-- well you know--you get what you pay for. *** Edited 2/17/2006 3:35:12 PM UTC by Intamin Fan***

Ahhh, youre right, I noticed it but never really grasped it, why ARE the links on the right? That did bother me since anywhere else im always looking to the left. I do like it for its general design (aside from that), but youre right it could use some work. Also, anyone find the park map yet? *** Edited 2/17/2006 3:42:12 PM UTC by P18***
The map is under downloads. That art on the rates page is awful. The rest is ok. *** Edited 2/17/2006 3:50:58 PM UTC by DragonRider***
ahh ok, thanks. Odd how its "map06" but looper isnt on there yet, or anything else thats new like XD. I really like their new brochure though. Also, I agree about the rates page, it keeps shifting right as it goes down. Also while Fandango is now listed back on the thrill rides page, the descrition is that of Downdraft above it. *** Edited 2/17/2006 4:34:34 PM UTC by P18***
