K'Nex Rocket Coaster

I was sitting around watching one of the morning shows (an inch of freezing rain will force anyone to stay home from work :)), and they had a story on the Toyfair going on in New York. One of the featured items was a new coaster set from K'nex, called the "Rocket Coaster". It had a launch into a tophat, then a vertical loop, and a turn around back to the launch.

I investigated the K'nex website, and in the "Family" section, they have a teaser picture titled "Coaster Under Construction". I guess we can look forward to this sometime soon.

Reading some of the recent forum topics, it looks like some CBuzzer's got a head start on building a K'nex rocket coaster of their own. ;)

Pinball and Coasters...Any Questions?

Sounds like they got their marketing plan from CP...all the way down to "New Roller Coaster Under Construction" on a wall surrounding the ride area.. ;)

I hope that they at least make the track compatible with the Screaming Serpent track. If they do, it will be a pretty cool thing to pick up!

Yeah, I saw that too. Although I can't get onto the Knex website, from the TV it looked like it launched (very fast) into a hypersonic-type hill, and then into a large vertical loop. Pretty cool looking.

I'm surprised they didn't take those round tubs and make a Tumble Bug out of the rocket ride idea.....*looks around for enough $ to buy the spare parts. If anyone gets to that before me, please post a pic!
