K'Nex Physics Counterintuitive?

So I was messing with the screaming serpent the other day and I noticed that, depending on the track, sometimes the trains go FASTER when it's LIGHTER and then gets slower as you continue to lighten the load).

I didn't bother to plot a speed vs. weight or anything, but it's certainly not monotone like one would expect. My only thought is that when the train is heavier, it sways the structure more which results in a greater loss of energy through that, while a smaller loss of energy from friction.

Anyone else notice this or have other insights?

The legend lives!

Kinda off the topic cause I don't have Screaming Serpent, how much do one of those cost?

When I built mine. I dind't like how slow it went so I got some grease and lubercated the track on the lift when the train hit that spot it rolled it completely around the circuit of the track. The train had now goten some massive air time on the camelhump after the loop (My Figures were losing their hair and hats on this section of track) and the train went 14 of the way back up the lift hill. BTW I bought 2 of these at Target for $62 dollars durring the week they had on it special they ran out of it. so what I done was went to every Target in my Area and placed rainchecks at them. On the day after the sale one of the Targets got a huge supply in of these and I bought them they soon sold out of those again as for this was one of the hottest toys of the year.

I wanted to sell mine on this site for 30 or 40 bucks, but my post got deleted (violated the TOS).  I would have wanted to give it to someone here before on ebay, but what are you going to do?

Interesting, I am building a Schwarzkoft Weightdrop Shuttle Loop. I wonder how that could come in to play with my possible train designs. Anyone who has any idea for track and trains for my K"NEX Shuttle Loop, give me an email. Thanks, I don't have the Screamin' Serpent, and I have already built the the weight drop tower. Any help would be appreciated.
