From the article:

The original 2,400-piece K’nex roller coaster is one of the holy grails of ‘90s toys. And for some, it inspired a lifetime obsession with building scale model thrill rides. YouTube’s CoasterWriter has taken the hobby to its extreme, building a backyard-sized K’nex coaster featuring a towering 10-foot tall main drop.

This is such a clasic toy. I bought three of them back in the day and I have a 5’ model sitting on the “potted plant shelf” on the staircase. I only rebuild it every few years, but I send the train almost daily.

There are like 8 of those 35 gallon tubs full of Knex roller coaster pieces in my basement and my kids still play with them. I still doubt I could build something that magnitude of this model.

Aside from that... that grass though!!

I assumed it was fake. If it is real how will he trim around the track? He certainly isn't going to tear it apart every time he mows. Although with as detailed as he is I suppose he could use a mini-scissors.

What do you call that element at the turnaround? I wouldn't complain if they added one of those to Magnum.

It’s called the Neck Snapper.

There isn't enough airtime, why didn't he build it taller, and the neck snapper is too rough, tear it down.

His backyard does not have a space problem.

He cut down a lot of trees to build that. And it needs a hotel.

His operations suck, intervals are too slow.

I would love to have one in my backyard though :)

It'd help if he put a gearmotor on the lift chain instead of pulling it up by hand.....

He's gonna use a drill. Drill, baby, drill.

Oh great! Another roller coaster that discriminates against big people. :(

(I just remembered my long unused log in to come out of commenting retirement for that lame attempt at humor. Natas is an old college nickname that I haven't heard in years.)

Seems like he is using the Millennium Force lift motor rather than Magnum.

And after watching that, sucks; will not ride.
