Does no one else enjoy this?:

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Does anyone have pictures?
SFoG I actually prefer GAdv's page...why? It's as soon as you get to the site you don't have to hunt for it or click anywhere besides the main page.

Watch the tram car please....
The blue train is not onsite. It was hauled away on a flatbed to make repairs. And no, the state is not holding onto it for the investigation lol.

The portion of track seen missing was likely only a result of the transfer being moved. No track has been removed or replaced.

Its hard to see clearly because it was a camera phone but here is a picture of the train leaving on the truck (From GADVCentral)

haha, if you say so. So much speculation about this ride. before about when it will be ready, and now... about when it will be ready and if it will be a potential death trap. I know when i finally ride Kingda Ka that in the back of my mind will be thoughts of the coaster and how it practicly crash and may have potentially resulted in fatalities. not that i think they would open it if it was dangerous.

Well, that's true, I guess. But what is Cedar Point going to put on it's homepage: "Dear Valued Guest, Top Thrill Dragster is open. Thank you"?

Ok, I just don't get about 3/4 of these posts. First, I was at SFGad last Wednesday, did notice one train missing while climbing the lift of GASM. How you all see so much I don't know, since they have SECURITY blocking the path back to KK. Now it just seems to me that most of you want to just have your SN on a post, and have NO merit, or any clue. Anywho...

I really don't think we should be pointing fingers as to who is to blame, since none of us work for either Intamin or management for SFI. I highly doubt that SF would do anything to endanger its guests, and that this whole thing was just a huge accident. I loved the one ride I did get on KK, still think it is doing just what SFI inteneded, and know that it and the rest of the Golden Kingdom was a sound investment.

Also, I told some of the whining people at the park, those who were harrassing a park employee about KK being shut down, that they are morons. It only makes sense to call or visit the parks webpage before you venture out to see hours, prices, events, and any other contingencies that may be posted. Of course a big word like that confused kids from Jersey, but at least I got a laugh.

Real men ride wood... coasters that is!
SFoG, Actually that was what it said on the front page for SF GAdv when KK was open. But then again it's the first year of operation for KK, Whereas TTD is not new.

PhoenixPhan: I know what you mean about security blocking the area of KK but try walking around in the parking lot and see how close to KK you can get. Not that I have tried it but that may get a better view. As for the whiners they need to get a grip and get used to disappointment. This is a huge mechanical undertaking and it needs to be understood that it will have issues. *** Edited 7/14/2005 1:55:13 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Beating this to death, but has anyone seen/heard any actual news lately. I was gonna go at the end of the month and probably still will. I would guess they should almost be ready, I mean it can't take that long for the ride to be fixed. I guess it's the state like posted above.

Yeah, because people from Jersey are morons compared to a genius like you.

***BIG WORD ALERT***

Nothing like a brazen display of pretentious grandiloquence to really bring the enthusiast world together, eh kids?

Hey, I like that word too. Got anymore cookies? :)
I was just at six flags great adventure yesterday. The ride is still blocked off so you cant walk up to it. My friends step-dad is a mechanic for six flags and i spoke with him before we went to the park. he told me that they just put the train back on the track and they should be starting test runs soon. They are shooting for a august 1st reopening. So who knows what will happen with the state and all but thats what he told me.
Cool. I am hopefully going the end of next month, so hopefullly it will be fine. And also, in no offense to anyone, KK's accident was a lot worse. If people had been on the train, they would have been seriously injured, or even killed.

Why shouldn't people be allowed to be disappointed or upset when they go o a park to ride a coaster that's been advertised from here to Kansas, only to find that the coaster is down?

Yes, the patrons should probably have checked the website first or called ahead, but not that many GP know about TTD or it's history or the accident or anything other than what they see in ads (which say "Now open.").

Should they be disappointed? Yes. Should they be compensated? Definitely. Should they be jerks about it? Definitely not.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Has anyone here that lives around Jersey noticed that the GADV commercials that play like every 15 minutes, advertising the Golden Kingdom and KK, don't advertise KK anymore? It's kind of funny, in a way.
