Scratching my head, as I do for most decisions in that company these days.
This is the first time in a while that I've 100% agreed with you. A lot after 2003 has been.... questionable.
Seven little bells, tied up on a string...?
I ride Ocean Motion on almost every visit. It's one of the better flat rides around, but it sure is in a crummy location.

Crummy location because of it being tucked away where no one goes. Good location because it's right on the water.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
^^Well at least one person knows the song that I was referencing.
Actually I would rather hear kids screaming about the ride hurting their ding-a-ling than "F$*^, this f*$*ing ride is f*^#ing hurting my f*#*ing d*#! The cussing by today's youth is really getting troublesome.
I love that old Chuck Berry song.... My D##*#*#, My D#*#*## I want you to play with my D#*#*#*#.... LOL
Although it took one of you perv's to take me down memory lane....
I was just more worried about getting accused of child molestation rather than riding the ride... LOL
I haven't been in Camp Snoopy for some time, wondering if there is room in that area along the water to put a Peanuts themed pirate ship ride? Would be my first choice if I were calling the shots.
I will say that Cedar Fair officials have been in talks very recently with GCII. For which park? Well, let the guessing games begin.
GCI has done some track and bent refurb work on some of CF's woodies. The recent talks could be for more of that kind of work and not necessarily for new rides.
I got sucked in last year by the hype about something new at CP. They did a great job of working folks up only to deliver a less then thrilling attraction.
This year I will wait and will know for sure what they are getting just as soon as they actually announce it.
I am more excited for the new coaster at Morey's Pier then I am about anything at CP.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
Yeah I don't get that. It's a flume. Wasn't hugely impressed with the announcement when they made it even if I think it's what they needed.
Not only is it just a flume, it's not even a record-breaking flume! What, exactly, were people expecting?
Even better is the general consensus of complaints when they removed the old flume for Maverick followed by the general consensus of complaints when they add a newer flume to replace it.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
StR is not a "flume", and that why I complain about it. Now that they built it, will they ever really replace WWL? Probably not, and that's even more reason to complain about it.

How did Cedar Point not deliver exactly the ride they claimed StR would be?
I think he's referring to the pre-announcement buildup. I admit I was excited last year when CP's facebook status was "Gee See Eye!" I assumed it was a not-so-well-veiled hint that the 2010 addition would be a GCI woodie. Then when they started making similar puns with other coaster companies, including ones that are no longer in business (ordering lunch "TOGO," etc.), I realized they were just Clupeas Rojos. :)
But I think the wishful thinking followed by disappointment was mostly among people who got all riled up in the speculation, then were left with a splash ride. Every time CP/T&T give "hints," they're usually irrelevant. And when they *are* relevant -- e.g. "what's this clearing on MilF Island for?" -- they get deleted soon after they're posted. :) But it's not like anything CP adds will have a big impact on my life; I can be patient and wait for the official announcement.
[Edit: OK, maybe "irrelevant" is the wrong word, but if the past is any indication, that stake in the sand could be where they're adding a Lemon Chill stand or something.]

Sounds like sour grapes to me.
I don't care what people think, I'm very, very excited to ride STR on Thursday. I hope the line is short, so I can do it again.
I'm not sure StR should be in the flume category. There are 30 year old+ flumes out there that are more interesting than StR. Heck, the flume at Kennywood is more interesting.
Will Cedar Point get less "enthusiasm" for their cute mouse/cheese tactics this year? Probably. But, most people will buy right in again.
