Kings Island/Cedar Point Trip Vs Carowinds trip!

Just looking for thoughts. My 2 daughter and I have done the KI/CP trip the last 3 years from NJ and I'm thinking about hitting Carowinds next month. Looking for opinions and possibly things to do in Charlotte. We are also going to Dollywood in Aug. Any thoughts would be Great! Thanks

CP and KI are my favorite CF parks, you can't go wrong there.

However if you haven't been to CW it is a fantastic park and worth a trip.

How are you getting there and how long do you have? To get this out of the way, assuming your driving from NJ you will pass close to Dorney, SFA, KD, and BGW, assuming you have the time

The city of Charlotte is beautiful and has lots of interesting sights and restaurants and also has the NASCAR hall of fame I believe.

The best of all the jokers is clearly Mark Hamill.

Agree with Touchdown. A KD/BGW/Carowinds Trip is a really good time, and Fury alone is worth making the trip. Especially if you've been to CP and KI for a few years now. BGW is one of the most beautiful parks you'll find, and there's a fine coaster collection between those 3 parks.

I call Cedar Point my home park even though I live in the Chicago Suburbs.

I'm in York, PA and I agree KD, BGW, and Carowinds is a good amusement park trip. SFA is an easy add on, but not my favorite Six Flags. Have some good coasters.

If you buy the Busch Gardens fun card early in the year you get unlimited admission to BGW and Water country from opening weekend to the labor day weekend for the of a single day admission something to keep in mind. Water Country is one of our favorite Waterparks. Hubba Bubba Highway anyone?

Carrowinds is totally worth the trip but be aware of the heat! Like others have said, Kings Dominion is along the route and worth a stop especially if you have a pass.

I feel like this thread has failed if someone doesn't suggest a swing by Fiesta Texas or Magic Mountain since they'll be in the neighborhood.

I thought about it, but I felt like I'd have been taking the joke too far.

I mean, if you're going to be on the road anyhow, swing by Tokyo Disneyland :-p

Agreed. You've been to CP and KI , check out Carowinds. If time and budget allow, hit KD and BW. They're all wonderful, wonderful parks.

In Charlotte there's the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the National Whitewater Center, a lot of great museums, and a very walkable downtown (but call it uptown) area. If you have any specific interests, Google Charlotte's Got A Lot.

I enjoy hanging out in NoDa and Plaza Midwood as well. Great food and craft beer scenes.
