I think he was describing a special feature of the ride... Airtime. :)

Please do not turn this thread into another argument about fast lane...
I was there for three days in fourth of July weekend, and the waits weren't that bad. I went thursday, friday, saturday. It was also 95 degrees out. It was crowded, but the waits were manageable...
There's always some rides at Kings Island that have short waits. Sometimes they open The Beast and sometimes even Diamondback until 12 pm. You can't miss The Beast night rides...
You can. I get about 6 or 7 rides in the first 2 hours (not including early entry) and then take it lightly until 5:00 pm. Then I go back at it until closing...
touchdown just described my kings island experience. I did ironically did everything he said except that I got in line for the beast before the firework show so I could watch it from the line. After the firework show, the beast's line just gets rediculous. If you want to watch the fireworks, line up on the beast before they start.
I should, but honestly, I can't believe you're trying to talk someone out of Fastlane when based on their information given, it's the perfect option for them.
I don't want to go hard for the first 2 hours, take it easy, and then go hard from 5 till close.
And I don't know what park you're going to, but KI gets crowded, and I would imagine unbearable for enthusiasts on July 4, much the same as Carowinds does.
I went to KI on the Sunday after HWN. It wasn't unbearable, but it was crowded. I got a Fastlane. It was worth every penny. I got to ride everything I wanted to except Flight of Fear because it went down while we were about to get on, and we never went back. Multiple rides on Diamondback.
I used Fastlane twice last year: once on a Saturday at KI and once on a Sunday at Canada's Wonderland. I wasn't thrilled about dropping the $60, but skipping lines on rides like Diamondback, Behemoth, and Goliath brought a delightful smile to my face. ;)
On a super-crowded day, it really is the only way to go.

Exactly. Since I get a Platinum Pass, it gives me reason to drop the money on a Fastlane. I'm considering getting one the day of Coastermania. It's nice to have the option of going to a park and not having to wait in lines all day, regardless of how 'managable' they are. The more time spent in line, the less rides I get to ride.
Curious..do CF parks discount FL for passholders, as GAdv does with FP?

I think I got a discount for being a Platinum holder, and we put 3 people on at one time, so it was cheaper.
No sir, they do not.
I'm with Tekwardo on this. The fact that I have a platinum pass makes it easier for me to justify Fast Lane when the need arises, for instance if I get surprised by a busy day when I wasn't expecting it.
BTW, I went to the Tyler Boes School of Park-Going and Busy Day Analyzing, not the Timber Rider school.

I totally agree. I am sometimes against fast lane, but with a platinum pass, it makes it smart in outrageous situations.
Then why was your first post in this thread a response to someone else who recommended Fastlane telling them not to turn this thread into an argument over it? I'm lost.

But nobody was arguing. Someone asked for advice, someone gave good advice, then you came in and tried to play moderator, and then gave bad advice.
Don't forget Beast. And Son of...oh, wait...

Flight Deck is actually pretty epic, and even better than some of the B&M inverts I've ridden. Don't miss it.

I went to Kings Island for one weekend each of the past two summers. Two summers ago we were there the weekend that Fast Lane was first introduced. Debated getting FL that Saturday but decided to skip it. Lines were not horrible (most rides 30 minutes or less). But the park was empty Sunday morning so we were marathoning rides. We left about 1 or 2 in the afternoon and the lines were still short.
Last summer we bought FL on Saturday because we were not sure how long we would be there Sunday (if at all). Definitely worth having it on Saturday. We did go on Sunday but only for a couple of hours. Lines again were very short. Not sure if that is typical for Sunday mornings at KI.
I'm a little late, but I wanted to post this...
