I think the real eye-opener here is the general disdain for Vortex... I think maybe KI upper brass has a pretty good idea where they could open up a plot of land in the future...

Pretty much any Arrow looper not named Tennessee Tornado will be pretty universally hated. And this is based on merit too... they're really not any good. Alan Shilke designed TT, so that's what makes it ridable and enjoyable.

That’s a bit unfair. I pretty much only hear good things about Loch Ness Monster. I rode the Demon at SFGA a couple years ago and thought it was a solid, fun ride. My affection for CP’s Corkscrew might be mostly nostalgia but it isn’t an awful ride by any means. And I’m still mostly a Vortex fan athough it’s probably at the outer edge of rideability.

I acknowledge the bigger rides (SFMM’s Viper, for one) were a bit beyond the pale.

The restraints are the biggest problem, IMO, which would be fixable except I doubt if most parks want to invest what it would cost to fix the trains on ~40 year old rides.

Don't forget Dragon Mountain! While its design is still from the "clothes hanger" phase, it's an amazing ride. Mostly due to layout and uniqueness.
