King's Island or Worlds of Fun?

Right on. WOF ROCKS!
Mamba and Timberwolf are amazing. Orient Express is simply a classic looper with interlocked loops.

Of Course, I AM BIAS...
Kings Island is my home park, and has been since I was a small child (I am now 31). The family and myself have been there at least ten times so far this year.
I think Kings Island has the best variety of wooden and kiddie coasters that you can find anywhere. They have a decent selection of steel with Face Off, Flight of Fear, Vortex, King Cobra (just for the history of it), Top Gun, and Adventure Express. The flat rides for children, and adults aint too shabby either.

BUT!

I would recommend Holiday World for the simple reason that 2Hostyl pointed out earlier. You have a much better chance of visiting Cincinnati in the future, so why not go to great theme park with excellent atmosphere (so I've heard). I have personally been wanting to go to Holiday World for a long long long long time now, but haven't had a chance to get there because it is in BFE. My wife tells me it's great.

Don't for get when you make your decision that the Northern Kentucky Greater Cincinnati International Airport is only 30-40 minutes away from Kings Island.

Either decision you make will be a good one. Good Luck

There is no such thing as a bad coaster.
Ok, well now it looks like I'll hit them all. PKI, SFKK, HW, SFStL, WoF, and SFEG on the way to Utah. Thanks for everything though! I'm hoping nothing goes wrong, 5 days from Pittsburgh to Salt Lake City, hitting 5 parks on the way, is cutting it close! It looks to be possible though...
Gotta defend WOF too!!!!
Even though it would not be my choice out of the mentioned parks if i had a choice to go. It does not "Blow" anything. Great Wood, Great Hyper, Classic Arrow Looper, and a Boomerang. Alot of people would consider WOF a great park.
One thing you could say is as for the mentioned parks it is the only one with a hyper coaster. Unless that is you consider SOB a hyper wood.

And too timberwolf16 why use such a great name as a user name if WOF blows so much? *** This post was edited by T-Wolf on 6/4/2001. ***
The park itself blows. Timber wolf is probably the second best woodie ive ever been on.But everything else practically sucks. Mamba is cool the first two times then after that you memorize every turn, every drop, etc. It gets old very fast. Orient hurts like hell, and boomerang just sucks. All there other rides except for Detanator and Fury of the Nile suck, and the food sucks. Thats why i Think the PARK blows.
I don't know about anyone else, but on every coaster that I have ridden (with the major exception of Gwazi), I have memorized the layout after the first time I rode it. Does that make the ride any less fun--no. Mamba's layout is simple, I'll agree. But do not confuse a simplistic layout with a bad one. Some of the best coasters in the world have simple layouts (this one included). And the Orient hurts like hell? Alas, the beemer magic-carpet smooth coasters have weakened us. The Orient Express is a heck of a ride--interlocking loops, the world's first boomerang element, and one of the most gut-wrenching first drops on the planet.

So what about the park "blows"? It is one of the cleaner parks I have visited. It has three world class coasters, a space shot, fun water rides, and a few good flat rides. Add to this that it still has some theming from the Hunt Midwest days that CF:LP hasn't destroyed, and the park's lines are always modest compared to others. I don't want to start a war, but I couldn't help noticing that you don't have any other coasters in your track record other than WOF coasters. If you haven't been to any other parks, isn't it hard to judge it among its peers?

Ed, give us some good trip reports once you get settled in. Five parks in five days? I'm green with envy. Have a fun and safe trip.

-------------
According to the "official" count, next year's new coaster lineup will feature 17 Arrow 4-Ds, 21 TA2Ks, 34 B&M floorless's, 17 Intamin Gigas, 12 beemer flyers, and 247 CCIs. And oh yeah, CP will receive one of all of these.
Between PKI and Worlds of Fun, PKI. They have a much better collection of coasters. If you like fast wood, PKI is great, Beast and SOB, plus the Racer. The giant loop on SOB is a coaster moment you should experience. SOB is not about airtime though, its about fast high banked curves. Same for Beast, its about speed. Also, if you want to be inverted without shoulder harnesses PKI is the place, SOB and Flight of Fear.

The Flight of Fear is another excellent coaster. If you go there, hit it first as lines build up and waiting inside the building gets tiresome. There are 2 trains with only 20 seats each, and loading time is a little longer on this ride, thus the slow moving lines. Its a great launch ride.

The Vortex is an arrow mega looper that runs pretty smoothly for its size. The mine train there rides rough for its size though, but it a nice little ride. Top Gun is a short but fast suspended coaster.

The other coasters there are skippable, so you have 4 great and 3 good coasters to check out at PKI IMO.

The flat ride selection is a little short there, but they have a swinging ship, flying scooter, slow scrambler, bumper cars, trioka, monster, and a wave swinger. Rapids ride, falls ride and themed log flume for water rides and a haunted theater dark ride. Enough to fill a day.

Its a wonderful park at night, especially International Street and the Eiffel tower in full lighting. Try to take a moment to absorb the atmosphere there after the rides close if you can.
The park itself has become a little cluttered and theming has went to the wayside since Paramount took control, but its still a nice place to go.

Defantly Kings Island over Worlds Of Fun, even know Kings Island doesn't have a hyper, I'm sure they would get one pretty soon, does a (wooden hyper count?)
Both you guys might want to actually go to WoF before you judge it. I do agree though that PKI is probably better. WoF is still a great park. One of the best in the midwest.
