Kings Dominion Updates

While browsing through the KD web site today, I noticed that they have put the 2007 calendar up and the 2007 show schedule.

The most notable change to the 2007 calendar is that the park is only open till 9:00 pm Monday - Thursday during daily operations in the summer prime season. Friday - Saturday and the week of July 4th the park is open till 10:00 pm. The park opening time is 10:30 am for the whole season (no change there). Also, the park is no longer open on the 1st weekend in November.

Based on the 2007 show schedule, we are getting a musical show in the (Paramount)? Theatre called "Twisting to the 60's". I'm not sure if this was produced at another Cedar Fair Park or if this show has been created from scratch. There is a Dora the Explorer sing-along show, the Backyard Circus kid show is returning, and the Nick character meet & greet. No Karaoke show (thank G*d).

Sorry, correction to the above calendar changes; during the prime summer season the park is open till 10:00 pm Friday through Sunday.
That's a shame they are not open in November anymore. I was hoping that Cedar Fair would possibly take that idea and have some of their other parks open that weekend as well but I guess there is no chance of that happening now.
I wouldn't say that yet. Paramount often added the first weekend in November at a later date. I believe they did that this year as well at KD.
I don't recall if it ever actually was listed on the official operating calendar in 2006? I know it was open because I was there that last Saturday and Sunday last year.

I wouldn't mind going next year for the bonus November weekend... we just need two hotel rooms next time...

Yeah, it is a nice weekend to go down there. Not too horribly busy, and a fun weekend with friends.

I also just heard that hypersonic will run untill they find a buyer.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ Darn...someone beat me to it!

Good news for me though as I'll at least be able to make up for that ride I didn't get on it last year when the ride went down while standing in the regulation 2+ hour queue for it.

Sounds almost like the case with Demon Drop.

And it makes sense, actually, to have it running until they find a buyer instead of having it SBNO.

I just hope they'll put a little more effort into bringing the ride up to a decent capacity this season.

It has 3 or 4 trains (don't remember the exact number, but it seems like 1 is always left off on the transfer), and they have 8 seats per train. You CAN'T get high capacity out of that, especially with all the stops on the way to the launch run (and the slow pace when actually moving).

Yes, it debuted at Cedar Point in 2006.
