I'm doing a history report on Kings Dominion and I need some help with some information, if any one has any information on Kings Dominion, please write about it
If any one has any information at all regarding past attractions or websites or books please tell me
King's Dominion hasn't changed a whole lot, but I can tell you some of the changes. Before Volcano it was Smurf Mountain. 3 rides existed inside including a long water ride, a themed rotor, and a Smurf ride that took you on a train through the upper part of the mountain. In front of Smurf Mountain there was a shuttle coaster (Schwartzkopf?) called King Cobra. And to the left of the shuttle coaster was a Bayern Curve themed as Mt. Fuji. Before the water park it was called Candy Apple Grove. This section included a couple of flat rides including a Monster, an Enterprise, and also a Pinfari roller coaster, the Galaxy. There is an excellent picture of this section in The American Roller Coaster by Scott Rutherford. (Buy this book it's well worth the money). If I got any of the names wrong please correct me.

Jeff, Maybe adding a history section for each park would be a good idea. I think the best way to accomplish adding the information would be to get people from around the respective parks to submit bits of historical information. However this information would need to be reliable. However if any website could accomplish this mounting task I think this one could. Maybe we could go get books on history of certain parks like what Cedar Point and Heshey Park have to help us out. Anyone else interested in starting a HUGE project like this?
Here is a starting place for Cedar Point. There is a web site called Cedar Point On Lake Erie that has a great ammount of history on Cedar Point. The url is http://cedarpoint.virtualave.net/home.html
This site has several different parks historical info. //www.cobweb.net/~moppy/index.html
I miss Kings Dominion - oh, it's still there, but it's not the same. First clue? Metal detectors. I say if anyone wants to bring a gun into an amusement park, just SHOOT em! ;) ------------- WARNING: May be habit forming
