Kings Dominion - Intimidator 305 - April 1, 2010

^I read about the 10 minute thing on KD's website. I find it strange that 3 CF parks (KD, KI, and CP) have completely different ERT for Platinum Passes. I would think there would be more consistency.

On another note, how well are the PP working this year? Have there been any issues/hassles with getting into your non-home park?

Thanks, Dave.

I like Volcano a lot, but it's not my priority on Saturday. I-305 is. If I don't get on Volcano Saturday, I'll hit it Sunday. I'm expecting the park to be really crowded Saturday due to two factors: I-305 and the Soul Saturday conference/concert. I'm gonna try for a couple of early rides on 305 and play the rest of the day by ear. I'll be on my own Saturday, but am meeting friends Sunday.

On a related note, I'm getting conflicting info about room rates at KQ with the CF discount. One person at the hotel quoted me about $135 for the 2 nights. A different person at a different time quoted me about $115. The rates on their website don't even jibe with what I was quoted. I'm leaning toward staying in Ashland as I usually do. Less expensive, more food options, and closer to church for Sunday morning.

I'm actually EXPECTING a hassle Saturday. I bought my CF Platinum Pass at Dorney in September, and was told it would be ready to go for KD before I made it to Dorney this season. However I lost the pass at GAdv in October. I spent 5 months going back and forth with them to get it replaced. Knowing the situation, a person at each park told me I should have no trouble. But I just don't have luck with (bleep) like this and I'm just hoping things go OK Saturday.

Knotts has NO ERT for anyone, PP or not.

I used my '10 CP Platinum pass at Knotts in December. Had no problem but parking attendant just wrote down the #-I had to go to guest relations and get a ticket. They made me sign something and took a copy of the pass. Not as easy as just scanning to get in but I didnt have a problem! :)

I had issues at Carowinds on the second day as a lot of Kings Island pass holders did. This was right at the opening and they tried to tell me and others that we had already been in the park. This was less then 1 minute from when the park opened. They were total idiots and treated a friend like he was trying to do something wrong.

I didn't have any issues at KD but I know that a lot of KI folks did on opening day. They processed the day before at KI.

CF needs to make a concentrated effort to all the parks on the same system at all of the parks.

Kings Dominion I had no problem with my Kings Island platinum voucher. I took it to guest relations where they were very friendly and within a minute they had handed me a Kings Dominion platinum season pass processing form. Processing took less than ten minutes. Excellent customer service all around at this park, which cannot be said for all Cedar Fair parks as mentioned above.

Also I must reiterate what Dave said about Kings Dominion early entry for VIP and PP holders. Go to Volcano first, even if it seems oh so tempting to go to I-305. Volcano is easily a horrifying wait all day unless your among the first there. I-305 was almost a walk on all day the day I went.

I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.
