Kingda Ka Preview Building and T-shirts!

I stopped at Great Adventure Sunday night for a quick look at what was going on. There is plenty of track in the parking lot now, including the spiral track. There is also a giant crane on site with about 10 extensions sitting all around it.

On the way to the entrance, there are large posters advertising Kingda Ka. I headed to the old lost and found building, located to the right of the main entrance before you enter the park. This is the new preview building for 2005. They have all the pictures they have online blown up as nice pictures on the wall. The 2 videos are aslo playing (very high quality) on large screen TV's in two corners. Also on display were Kingda Ka T-shirts which were available for purchase right outside the preview building. The shirts are a military green and have the logo on front, and they say "Kingda Ka This Eats All Records" on the back. The logo on the front of the shirt is the one found in the top left corner here. (I don't think I'm breaking the TOS, but that is the only place I could find the logo)

A little early to be selling merchandise? I thought so, but I'm still the sucker who bought the shirt for $12

$12 isn't a bad price for the shirt. I bet it goes up to like $15 or $18 next year when the ride is open. I'm happy to see that Six Flags seems to promoting this within the park.

I noticed at least one person wearing one at PPP on Saturday. Couldn't help but think, dang, they're quick with the merchandising on this. Guess it's all one big marketing campaign.

ZNitro, you could always say that you were the first one on your block to have one.

The guy wearing the Kingda Ka hoodie at PPP, Phil, is an op at the park. I would imagine he had first crack at the merchandising.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

SFGAm also has a preview center set up already, with displays, pictures, videos and a lady answering questions. I'm suprised that SF is doing this, it is a nice touch.
