Hasn't the "quantity discount" been disproven before? I thought this had been discussed in a separate thread concerning Cedar Point and MF, WT, and TDD, and many people had said that such a discount isn't good business sense. I could be wrong though.

would KK be less because it's less horsepower?

As far as overhead costs, yes, but I wouldn't think that factors into the cost of the ride.

I dunno. I was kidding and I don't expect SF to clone this ride. I would guess that cloning would save some of the design costs.

Edit: There has to be some savings...if there were none, why would anyone clone? *** Edited 1/22/2005 4:03:55 AM UTC by RavenTTD***

Not because of saving money as a discount, but a clone is cheaper overall after the first time because you aren't paying for a new design every time, and a clone is (usually) a proven design.

The reason you see so many batmen clones, boomerangs, SLCs and the like are because as a whole, they are cheaper because they are common. But that dosen't mean that SF or CF or Paramount or any other chain gets a discount if they 'buy 3 and get one half off' at the end of the year Intamin sale.

Besides, Intamin's Powertrane warrenty suxors, from what I understand.

They should buy the next coaster from Walmart. You will get a great price, and if you don't like it you can return it no questions asked. In fact, their return policy is so great, you might be able to return some coasters to them that you did not buy there. hmmmm, let's see...what coasters do we need to take back to Walmart?

First it's the pointless topics and the fight over TTD and KK. Now we're at the corny jokes. This offseason is something else. :)

Something has to get us through, and Solace isn't until March. :)

Dannerman - you know you buy into the Friday night ERT if you know someone staying at the Radisson. I'm sure that can be easily done. Email me if you want to discuss.

Yeah, that's why I'm dragging along a friend, makes it much cheaper (and Motel 6 isn't expensive per nite;)).

I'd love to do the Solace ERT on Friday, but we're going to be doing L.A. stuff instead, like clubbing and celeb watching;).

And by Celeb watching, I'm not talking about Paul Ruben.

Is it proven that a clone is always cheaper? I would think if anything, it'd be higher later on because of inflation.
If the first installment of a design costed that much more than the rest, wouldn't everyone wait for everyone else to buy first? Yeah, I'm sure some do that anyway.

Heres the article... did any of us shell out the 25 million? Our little $70 or $47.80 contribution is fine thank you... get in, sit down, be quite, and hold on!
