Kinga Ka down??

I was just on Six Flags Website and it states that the Kinga Ka Roller Coaster is temporarily closed. Does anyone know the reason of this? or if it will possibly reopen by thursday?

its all downhill from here.

It's been down practically all summer. It got hit by lightning. Your luck is probably not good of getting on it Thursday.

From what I have heard it may be open in a week or so, or maybe by Labor Day or next season. I am going to the park one week from today. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.

^You got lucky with Superman at SFA!! :)

But thankfully, TTD is so far superior, I didn't even really miss it during my one GAdv trip this year! (it just meant more Toro, which KK is almost too distracting)

Kingda ka is down???

That's unheard of :)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I'm gonna take a stab that it's like what happened with TTD in '05: The main drive gear is broken and it'll take six months to a get a new one from Intamin.

This is rarely a reason that a ride goes down for. Tall metal things tend to get hit by lightning all of the time.

It's a blessing when it's open and but working inconsistently. All of those people hemming and hawing in line or waiting for KK to open when the park has such a good collection of Beemers and El Toro with the shorter lines.

"-est" rides may not be FUNNEST.....but the marketing always seems to draw crowds, even when the rides themselves are downright awful.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Thanks for the responses guys!

A good example of that is the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I heard one of the elevators malfunctioned and crashed when the building got struck by lightening ;)

Everybody knows when the tower gets struck by lightning, you go back in time to the 1930s. ;)

Was at Great Adventure today. Stayed an hour, the heat was nasty, and I wasn't waiting in any line over 10 minutes, and they were all over an hour. Also, Kingda Ka is still down.
