This one is going near Vortex's exit. Sounds like it might go in Flight Commander's former spot. Anybody else think that is kinda weird? I mean, they look kinda the same.
I really miss Flight Commander.
It's not going in flight commanders old spot. It's going between vortex and the racer turn around. They already have it marked on the kings island map as seen here...

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
There goes my secret bathroom for a #2 at KI :( now that I no longer know anyone who lives at the Falls.
And the generated video clearly shows the ride in the spot once occupied by Flight Commander. I can't imagine it going anywhere else, and that spot has been void of a large attraction for years now. The perfect spot. So there's a mistake somewhere.
I'm dismayed that both parks in Ohio are getting one, but otherwise I think it's a great move, the rides will each get a lot of attention, and they will be good for business overall I'm sure. I can't wait to ride one and I guess I'll have my pick. KI's is closer to the house.
"Now, wasn't somebody killed on that ride?" I can just hear it now! Maybe they've re-thought the location...
Each ride throughout the chain is interestingly, if not creatively placed. The one at CP will have a spectacular location positioned partially "on" the beach with (literally) sweeping views of the lake and the park.
I'll have to look closely, but I have the impression of the land by the Vortex exit as being rather lowland, and I can't imagine expanding the park that direction - at best it's a deadend. I still think the FC spot is it.

I seem to recall hearing a lot of reminiscing about Flight Commander by other participants at Coasting for Kids at Kings Island a few weeks ago. I may have heard someone say that a ride similar to Flight Commander was returning in that spot someday. Now it all makes sense.
Don't be dismayed RCMAC. Cedar Point and Kings Island have a lot of the same kind of flat rides. Flat rides are not something that have to be unique to any one park, imho.

Yeah, it's the Flight Commander location. Too early to tell if they're reusing the old pad and queue, though.
Sorry to double post...
Here is a Bing image of the area that the ride will be built. I can't seem to fit it into the area between the Vortex exit and the Racer turn around as well as I can fit it where Flight Commander used to sit.
EDIT - Well never mind. That link doesn't take you directly where I intended it to take you. I suppose you'll have to find it yourself. :(
