King Cobra (PKI)

I don't know if I'd necessarily describe it as "comfortable" although if the shoulder loops were disconnected from the seat so that I could put them up a little higher it might be an improvement.

But what I like about it is that the design is totally failsafe. If all of the latches fail on that thing mid-ride (unlikely to happen since the bars use a hydraulic lock), you still won't come out of the thing.

Of course, that's what made the incident at PKD so shocking. Many of us have trouble getting out when the restraints are unlocked, let alone with the bars locked and the train moving at operating speed.....!

Dave, that guy at PKD didn't *fall out*....he WORKED to get out....it's a horrible ride even by MY low standards, but I still wanted to get back to the station before exiting...

I also liked the Togo train design, it felt really OPEN as compared to the Beemers....

Actually Gator....She was drunk and came out! Get it right, dang it!;) TOGO is far less painfull when drunk, I'd imagine. But in all seriousness, I'd like to see it somewhere, as it was a decent ride, but I doubt it...

TS...IIRC, it was a guy about 20 or 21 that *managed* to get himself out of the restraints on Sh**wave. I am no good at searches, but I'm *pretty sure* about that....if you can find the original info, I'd be happy to admit being wrong....yet AGAIN....;)

It seems today, that all you see, are violins in movies, and sax on TV....
Right. 20-Y-O male, if I remember right, squeezed out mid-course, possibly under the influence of a little liquid courage. I never said he fell out, I merely noted that most of us have trouble getting out with the restraints unlocked and the train stopped; somehow he managed it with the bars locked and the train at speed.

TeknoScorpion, are you thinking about Kings Island's one ride fatality, the Flight Commander incident? The incident Gator and I are talking about was on Kings Dominion's near-copy of King Cobra.

Yes, it was just a joke, actually. Someone on here not too long ago was getting the two confused, but I think the post was deleted for their being an @$$. Ya'll gotta take the smiley faces for "Face" value guys!:)

TS...It's all good....

I'm kinda picky about the PKD *incident* only because I do NOT believe it was an *accident*. There MAY have been some alcohol involved, but it's my considered opinion that it was an intentional suicide...sorry if that idea offends anyone here...

Personally, I think the PKD incident was clearly intentional, but I'm not certain the guy intended to get himself killed. After all, if you want to get yourself killed, jumping off a stand-up coaster is far from a foolproof way to do it.
