Police and firefighters had to be called to Thorpe Park after a group of youths climbed to the top of one of Britain's tallest rollercoasters. They broke in to the theme park after it had closed and then made their way to the top of the 205-foot Stealth ride.

It operates so infrequently, there was no chance of them getting hit by a moving train. That said, 205ft is quite a height to fall from.

Had that been Cedar Point, the webcam stalkers of Pointbuzz would have been calling the police before the kids got 10 feet off the ground.
Maybe I'm old and crotchety, but I just don't get it. In what world does this seem like a good idea? The whole "urban climber" phenomenon never made any sense to me.

They never would have gotten past the security. An ample wanding would have prevented this tragedy from ever occurring.
Does anyone else read the word "youths" and instantly think of My Cousin Vinny? "What's a yoot?" I love that movie.

I think the obvious answer - and I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet - is that someone needs to choke these kids.
