KICentral adds Firehawk construction photos

Firehawk is set to debut at Kings Island Memorial Day weekend and final touches are being made. Most painting has been completed, new signs have been installed, and the newly christened Ft. Kinzel has been revamped, all for the debut of Firehawk at Kings Island. Photos include the updates mentioned above and photos of the train, filled with weights, sitting in Firehawk's station.

Fort Kinzel? Are you kidding me? That's not a little vain or anything.

In any case, they're doing a nice job with the signage and theme to the area. However minor it might seem, the theme elements do make for a more rich experience.

I like the colors, the station...not so much. Does anyone know if KI is using three trains on Firehawk? I know their people did some work on them, so maybe they rebuilt the missing train.

Wow. I'm quite impressed at how nice the coaster and station looks. The color scheme is way nicer than X-Flight.

I thought Ft Kinzel was something KI central was calling it until I saw that pic. Nothing like CF taking over the park right away. LOL!!

Remember, Ft. Cooper was named after the then-head of Paramount Parks back in '96 when FOF opened. Renaming it as part of the de-branding kinda makes sense. It just seems weird since Kinzel is way more prominent in the industry, especially in OH, than Cooper.

Based on the design of the photo booth and other touches, any guesses whether or not CP P&D are involved?? That booth looks way too familiar, almost like it should be next to a drag strip or something ;)

KI is only going to be running two trains. According to one of the steel maintenance workers, Geauga Lake used the third train as spare parts for the other two trains. Supposedly there is little more than three cars left of the third train. I think it's safe to say you won't ever see anything more than a 2 train operation on Firehawk.

You'll be lucky to see one train op IMHO

WOW! they finally finished and put the trains on but they forgot to paint the brakes they are still Neon Green from X-Flight and they won't use three trains because there isn't any parts so two trains are going to be on Firehawk when it operates and it will have mechanical issues too. So its not really excitable even though I like X-Flight

Now, the real question is. Since KI will only use two trains, will the second half of the station simply be used as storage, or will the ride be capable of loading from both platforms if necessary?
Say what you want about Paramount, but BORG's installation is still by far the best of these coasters.

KI has every intention of running both stations. Don't forget that this ride is moving from a park that sees 700,000 guests to a park that sits around the 3 million mark. I'm not entirely sure exactly how having two stations will affect capacity, but I'm guessing CF wouldn't put money into its reconstruction if it wasn't worth it. Also note that if one station does go down for most reasons, the other station can still operate.

Eventually they did use both stations on X-Flight but they only used it for half of the season because the second station had mechanical problems and used the two trains on the other station. the ride didn't run as it supposed to do so it didn't cost anything to SF even the trains are supposed to lay down during the lift hill but X-Flight didn't so Firehawk will do the same thing.

So it seems it isn't right at all and the ride isn't modified with a new train or a new part so Firehawk is not very great.
