KI Tips.

I was really hoping to avoid this topic but the time has come and no one else has posted it. My friends and I are going to KI the end of June and were wondering what the best way to hit the park is? We want to hit all the coasters plus DZ, TR and Delerium. I'm looking for the best plan of action to accomplish this. Thanks!
Sunday morning is a good time to go if you are going on weekend. If not, Tuesday through Thursdays are little less busy.

Firehawk will be busy as heck, so go to X-Base which is next to Coney Mall area. Ride Firehawk and Flight of Fear. You will be able to see Italian Jobs from Coney Mall. Go there next. After that Beast and TRTR should be next. Go back toward Vortex, Racer, and Adventure Express. Walk toward Action Zone for Delirium and Drop Zone. These two will have some waits. I am not sure if Son of Beast will be open or not. Face/Off will also have some wait. However, Firehawk and FoF will be much much busier if you go there after Action Zone.

You can visit NU for other kiddie coasters along with Scooby Doo.

I hope this helps.

If possible, go during the week. It will still be busy most days, but nothing like it will be Friday - Sunday. They will fill most of the entire lot, (sometimes even park in the grass areas). It can be insane!

Some people will say start to the left when you get inside and head to Action Zone, then to Coney Mall, and so on making a circle around the park. Me personally, I always head to Flight Of Fear first off, (best steel in the park IMO). But if you choose FOF, as soon as they let you in make your way as quickly as possible to that area. It will be big time busy really fast with FOF and Firehawk right next to each other.

Unless they still offer ACE morning walkbacks, (and you're an ACE member) don't feel the need to rush back to the Beast. Most of the day it's never much more than a 20 min. wait tops. If you want a night ride on it show up earlier in the evening to see what the wait time is.

Another flat to check out is Avatar! It's a great ride if you like Disko's with a twist.

Remember, these are my observations. Others will post and say I'm nuts, and vice-versa. Decide for yourselves, and maybe even ask around with the employees to see what they suggest. Hope you have fun!

How have Thursdays been this season? Since we are not going to Con, we were thinking about hitting KI on our way thro' to Mania.
Thursdays are usually pretty decent.

The ACE morning walkback is still done. I'm not sure about the procedure this year though, might want to call GR and ask about that. 800-288-0808.

One time I went to ask a question at the office window on the right just before park opening, and the hostess came over and asked if we were with the "coaster people". Well heck yeah we were! We got the walkback to the Beast and TRTR.

I'm assuming you've never been to the park. One way to get a "lay of the land" is to do the Eiffel Tower first. Go up there and with your map figure out what the layout is. Might make for faster and more efficient walking. Can't argue with the point of heading to Firehawk and FoF first. Face/Off will forever have a long wait it would seem, so do that whenever. 2 coasters you will want to do during the day AND after dark, to get 2 different and fun rides, are the Beast and Adventure Express.

I'm sure you'll get everything done at KI if you just walked slowly and rode whatever you wanted whenever the idea to ride it came up. Sometimes I'll pick a ride to start with in the morning, but I don't plan out the whole day. Doing so takes all of the excitement out of being at such a great park.

If you get to the park right when it opens this plan will work perfectly. Most guests will get hung up in the Action Zone, so skipping ahead to X-Base/Coney Mall will be your best bet. I use this plan almost every time I go to the park and it works great.

I looked at the event flyere for the Con and it only says:

"Kings Island has special tours, surprises, and more planned during our visit to the park"

So I would assume that one of the surprises is the walk back for Beast.

Does anyone know if and when this would happen during the Con?
