Kentucky Kingdom Report Released

I've seen what appear to be ride operators putting new coaster trains on the track, but I don't know if the maintenance or engineering crews have to wear uniforms, so I'm not sure. What kind of training about the actual ride do they receive? If they don't even understand approximately what type of technology they are dealing with, they might not have an "empowering" as well. I don't mean they need to know every nut and bolt of a ride, but some education on, for instance, how an Intamin power tower is different from an S&S launch/drop tower. You know, then they'll understand differently the failsafe methods, the possibilities for injury related to the mechanics of the ride, etc. I would think that would definitely add to the empowering of ride operators, rather than just having them think they are button pushers. What is the education for a ride operator?
