The long and cold off-season has finally come to an end for Midwestern coaster enthusiasts as Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom opened to the public on March 27. Photos from a really fun day at the park have been added to Negative-G.com.

I enjoyed getting a "feel" for SFKK from your pics as I hope to hit SFKK just prior to Beastbuzz.

Paul's photo of the fences and luxurious concrete barriers had me scratching my head. Don't you go to amusement parks to escape that environment? Next trip, Paul, see if you can find out how the rest of Industrial Wasteland, the newest themed area, is coming along! :)
I have been leary of visiting after reading some of the recent trip reports, but your update Paul has shown me that it can't be 'that' bad. Thanks!

I figure I'll only be out the price of parking and gas if it sucks. ;-)

It's not that bad Neuski. In fact, I had a decent time there last July and am actually making a second trip down there this weekend.

It's small for an SF park but they still have 7 coasters and a decent amount of flats.

Thanks Chitown:

I'm thinking about making it down this weekend. It really looks like a decent park. I guess we'll see.

SFKK has the most underrated woodie (Thunder Run) out there. I think you will enjoy it Neuski.
Hey everyone thanks for the comments.

John, yep Bond is getting big and he is a blast!

Jeff, Park goers wouldn't see the barren wasteland if they'd only put of a fence that you can't see through. Interesting rumor coming from a Twisted Sister, I mean twins ride op after I commented on how there's plenty of space under it that could use some landscaping mentioned that they are thinking of moving the Enterprise in the plot of land just to the south of the Twisted Twins plaza sice something is going where Enterprise currently is.

Neuski, SFKK is only bad if it's packed because some of the attitudes and behaviors of the locals can make for a nasty day but if it's not packed it's a fun park, especially for kids since they have a pretty decent selection of kids rides and attractions.. Also their customer service is way up under their new regime as they got a new manager from SFOG mid season last year.

Thrillerman, Thunder Run rocked this weekend, it still had it's insane airtime and even the side of Twisted Twins that was running was running well. The twins have a lot of new wood but one of them valleyed before park opening so it was not on the track.

Thanks all and have fun!
