Kennywood's ferris wheel

It should be pointed out that the Pavillion accident was due to rider misconduct, and not any problem with the wheel itself. As I recall it was caught by a tourist with his camcorder. It made the rounds on the tube for while, still pops up once in a while.
Right, I should have included that. But you know GP, people died on it, so it dosen't matter that it was due to misconduct. It was prominant in the front of the park and ridership went down.

My Uncle and Cousin where @ the park during the whole incident, and we were there 2 weeks later. It was quite the ordeal, all because of someone being stupid and causing loss of life.

Well, the dozen or so people I usually go to parks with all enjoy a good ferris wheel. We ride the ones at Cedar Point, Indiana Beach, Kentucky Kingdom, Dollywood, and Idlewild, and we'd gladly ride them at other parks if they had them.

2. I have a few pictures of the last one at KW during its final season. I'll fish them out of the file and post them for you.

3. The loading docks at Cedar Point, Indiana Beach and Kentucky Kingdom are pretty efficient and the gondolas hold six people and there are still lines whenever we go.

4. We like the present relaxing format as a break between coasters. However, if you want a thrill ride, there is the new style of ferris wheel, with the tracks and the wheeled gondolas which keep running around the triangle as the wheel rotates. They are really intense. We like them, too, but no one would call them relaxing.
