Kennywood.....No closing time?

I've never been to Kennywood, but we are hoping to go this year. So, I was checking out their site and noticed that there is no closing time. What the heck?

So, what time *typically* does it close?

In general, what are the wait times for PR?

Thanks for your help.

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

It usually closes anywhere between 10 and 11. On busy nights, it can be later, and on less busy nights, it can be earlier.

Wait times for PR can be anywhere between 15 minutes and 1 hour (assuming that two trains are running)...

Yea i just seen that and it says it depends on crowds or weather. I would assume after being to other parks that it closes about anywhere form 7-10.

It seems kinda dumb doing it that way though.

Roller Coasters or sports? I guess there are questions nobody can answer!

Kennywood never knows how the crowds will be on any given day so the close after the majority of guests go home. I think it's a great idea because I have been to a few PA parks that will be VERY crowded and close VERY early anyway. I have never found the park to close before I expected. Closeing times should reflect how long one stands in line durring the day.

From what I have seen, they usuially close between 8 and 11.

Kudos to Kennywood!

The best way to figure out when they are closing while you are there is to find out when the last time is booked for the Skycoaster. This is generally a good rule of thumb for the park closing time. By 4pm, Skycoaster is usually sold out, which means an 11pm closure.

Number of coasters ridden: 138

After 50 years of frequenting Kennywood, I'd say it closes from 10:00 to 11:00 90% of the time on nonraining summer days.
Whoa! 50 years! Sorry guys, but I'm gonna take this opinion over anyone else here! 50 years! I've only been visiting parks for 20.

Sadly, I'm a big dork, because I can know that the two biggest mysteries in the amusement industry are:

1) What time Kennywood will close.
2) What Cedar Point is building next.

Well, the general rule is "between 10 and midnight, depending on the crowds and the weather."

The weather being such utter crap this past week, it's actually been between 8 and 10:30, but that's a rarity.

It really does make sense once you figure out the system. If a park's jam packed, why close at 10 just because the schedule made up last January says so? On the other hand, why stay open until midnight "as advertised" when there are 32 people in the park.

Kennywood rarely "kicks people out."

Yup. Nothing like Kennywood near midnight on a clear summer night to remind you why it's good to be alive...

....if smaller parks everywhere recognized that their niche was just to make people relax , have a great time, and remember "the good ole days", maybe there'd be more pf them and a little less of the regional megapark thing.....hmmmm.

"So big, so close"......you make the call!
