KENNYWOOD SWING SHOT

I took my first trip of the season to Kennywood on Sunday and I actually had fun... I'm more of a coaster freak so you can usually find me at CP... TO say the least SWINGSHOT is an amazing ride.... At first I was leary of it but then a friend reminded me it's just a very big swing set... Looking straight down at the highway though adds to the thrill... When the ride gets going you want nothing more then to pump your legs so you can go higher... The welcoming and exiting annoucements are quite comical with local Radio personalities Mikey and Big Bob as your host.... All in all it's amazing now I just gotta check out SkyHawk... Phantoms Revenge was fun as usual except for the breaking at the station. I know they added new magnetic breaks this year but you'd think they could invest in some oil to for them... Talk about loud squealing and the smell of burnt metal lol.... I did get to experience my first coaster breakdown though on the Jack Rabbit being trapped on a coaster with screaming kids isn't to exciting... After a 15 minute stop at the last hill and some calming by the staff away we went.... Goodtimes at Kennywood for once...

The magnetic brakes wouldn't be causing the squeaking, as there isn't any contact between them and the fins of the train. Adding a lubricant to the brakes where they come in contact with the moving train would kind of defeat the purpose, don't you think?
