Kennywood Season Passes

Does Kennywood sell season passes yet? Or are they still a one day ticket only park?

They never will sell season passes. I forget who posted it, but someone here said they don't want to turn into a babysitting service. [cough]Six Flags Ohio[cough]

Same with Knoebels. I'd pay $200 for a pass there. I'd still most likely save money.

About the Babysitting Service thing GigaCoasters, Parents will come to the park and drop the little hoodlums off and then go off for a day in the burgh'. Know I'd say about 90% of these kids are good but there are certain individuals that can't behave when mommy and daddy aren't around. If you don't belive me just look for the topic about the kid talking about all the times he had been kicked out of the park. I think it would make sense for a pass for those older than 18, but then again I've seen 12 year olds behave better than you average 18 year old :).
Given the fact that some of Pittsburgh's not-so-nice neighborhoods are within 10 minutes of the park, you wouldn't like the kind of people that would use that babysitting service.

I wonder why they can't enforce a must be accompanied with an adult while at the park thing. I'd think that would cut down on the babysitting.

Although I know when I was 12 or so we'd split up with my parents while at the park (although they were still there). I guess it has it's faults.

I made the original "babysitting service" comment a long time ago. Straight quote from Kennywood. As Neil said, Kennywood borders on some rather rough neighborhoods, so a season pass offering could result in more of a Six-Flags like atmosphere rather than a friendly neighborhood park feel (sorry, couldn't resist ;) )

Steel-Phantom,

i was the one who made the post about getting kicked out of sfgam. But besides those two accidents, I have behaved really good and never gotten in trouble at a park. I have even reported kids to get them kicked out. All other times i've been to a park, 99.89% I have behaved and been nice and good. I am not a delinquint. I am usually more mature than seniors at my high school.

But those three times, I was dared. Plus that was like 8 years ago. I was 8. So, justt to clear my name: 3 out of the 1000 times i have been to amusement parks, I have misbehaved. I hope you still don't think of me too harshly still :)
I respect that they dont sell season passes, kennywood is such a traditional park, they wouldnt do anything to ruin that reputation
It kinda sucks that Kennywood does'nt sell season passes, but they have their reasons. I do agree with them however, I would'nt want some little jerks at the park (keep in mind I'm 17, and pretty mature for my age).

Oh that explains it! We all know you can't refuse a dare!

I wonder what would happen if Pittsburgh's bus system didn't have service to Kennywood.
