Kennywood ride is 100 years old

While classic rides disappear all over the country, an old classic dark ride turns 100 at Kennywood. The Old Mill boat ride has changed names, but still takes riders through a long circuit passing various animated scenes.

What's it called now? That ride is pretty fun. I can't belive it's 100 years old! Just think how many people have gone on it! When I went back in 1995, the line was easily 45 minutes but I still went on twice because I heard how historical it is. I like the skeleton's playing the insturments :)

It was originally called the Old Mill. Then they changed it to Hardheaded Harold's Horrendously Haunted Hideaway in the 80's I believe. Then in the late 80's, they changed it back to the Old Mill.

Pronouncing the old name takes LONGER than the ride!!! WOO HOO! Let the celebration begin! I can't make a trip to Kennywood without a voyage on this timeless ride (great to take a gal on!).

I worked on this ride in 89 when it was the Hideaway. Basically, it's like no other ride in any other park. Its all history.
