That's to name the Screamin' Swing, announced in May, not anything that has been / will be announced today.

Man I miss Chiodo's!

That makes two of us! What a great classic neighborhood bar that was. Although he was doing well still -- poor guy just wanted to retire after 50 years of no vacations. I really wish someone could have stepped in, though. Rock Bottom is hardly a substitute... *** Edited 7/6/2005 10:03:38 PM UTC by GregLeg***

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

Let's see, if it's an odd year, all the PA tax money goes to build (yet another) expressway in or around Pittsburgh. If it's an even year, all the tax money goes to bail out the Philadelphia public school system and/or public transit.

Kennywood's in luck, this is an odd year!

I'm still curious as to specifics of what they plan to do with this new land. It seems as if the highway is ever completed (5 years from now), they would look into building an indoor waterpark.

Until then they have 25 acres at the bottom of a 120 foot ravine. Stairs? Escalator? Slides? What good is this land other than to drop a coaster over? Not that some new coasters would be a bad thing.

Here's a map that shows the new areas in blue.

...sandcastle was built in 1993, not 20 years ago.

Sandcastle opened in July 1989 after 14 months of site preperation according to the actual Sandcastle website.

16 years ago this month.

Close enough to beeman's comment of "almost 20 years" for me. :)
