I haven't lost anything yet on any ride (except my mind...lol.)

<-----knock on wood.

Then I must have lost mine a long time ago at least 9 or 10 years ago...(its a long time for me). I havn't lost anything since my watch in Geauga Lake. I almost lost my souvieniers in a locker at Kennywood because it wouldn't open with the key. I did manage to get them out, but I was just about to talk to the Staff member there.

You live six hours away, and haven't gone "grind your soul"? YOU NEED TO GET UP AND GO. I might be a little bit jaded as I drive 9 hours to go to Marine World, but it's definately worth it for Kennywood.

6 hours is something I am used to. That is NOTHING! Try 12-13 hour drives to Florida and Arkansas (the latter being a hellish overnight drive) ;-)

Kennywood is MORE than worth any drive time. Luckily it's only 4 hours from me.

I DID, however, say this year I was going to fly more (if it was anything over 6-7 hours) but I keep finding myself taking these long road trips. lol.

You guys are all nuts driving this much :P

For our upcoming Florida trip, my girlfriend and I will be driving for over 54 hours in 15 days, so that's going to kill us. I don't know how you guys do it!

[Btw, we'll likely hit KW in 2006!]

2005 visited: PCW, PKI, CP, MFI, MIA, Knoebel's, Dorney, Hershey, PKD, BGW, USF, IOA, BGT 2006 planned: Holiday World, Kennywood, Indiana Beach, SFKK, Lake Compounce, SFNE, La Ronde, Hershey, SFGAd. and more!
I got a 2100+ mile 17 day trip coming soon with a Kennywood to Dollywood drive thrown in there. Most of my coworkers are calling me nuts. I am telling them this is nothing compared to the three week family trips from NJ to Colorado and back I used to take as a kid.

Are we nuts?

Yes. ;-)

I have an 8 day trip coming up (IN/IL/Iowa/MN/WI that is going to be exhausting but it helps to have a LOT of loud music, much sleep (which is important) and good company. :-) Nowadays I am more into "pacing" myself.

17 day road trip Dragon? WOW! You will have to do a TR on that one. ;-)

15 days, Grind Your Soul? Sweet! Just stay away from the highly caffeinated drinks like Red Bull. They will keep you awake for a while but you will feel like crap (and crash HARD) before long. ;-) Plus they taste like crap anyway (much like Jolt!) Eww.

Tina, you obviously haven't had a Jagerbomb, Tic-Tac shot, or a Blow Pop, all very good with Red Bull...

;)

Well I have had Jagermeister but not while driving. ;-)

A Tic-Tac shot? Do explain. ;-)

Hey Joel, if Kennywood wants to get rid of the Roll-O-Plane it has sitting around, you can send it my way. It should fit in my backyard! Zoning might be a problem, though.

I can't remember if I ever emailed you back, either.... sorry if not!

yes 17 days on the road with the basic layout shown here http://www.dragonoffrost.net/coastertrek2005/coastertrek2005.htm

I may even turn that page into a Lord Gonchar type Trip report from the road... Right now it is all links to the parks websites :) *** Edited 7/21/2005 2:46:31 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Nice!

It will be a fun trip I am sure! Your trip actually looks a little relaxing (not marathoning). All great parks!

Three days of Thunderhead huh? Nice! You might want to consider checking out Ober Gatlinburg as well. I hear the Alpine Slides are pretty amazing.

-Tina

That's kind of the idea... a Dollywood day could turn into a Gatlinburg/Smoky Mountain non coaster day. Thinking the day we drive down from Pittsburgh. Then 2 days at Dollywood. To get this back on topic... Any non coaster rides that are do not miss at Kennywood? We don't care about wetness or intensity levels. I'll give anything a shot once....ONCE! *** Edited 7/21/2005 5:12:53 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

King Kahuna (Huss, Top Spin) they have a great program running.

Whip-classic ride!

Aero 360 (Zamperela Hawk)- Just amazing ride.

Log Jammer- great log flume

Raging Rapids- if you wanna get soaked!

Wave Swinger- Great G's for a little swing!

Garfield's Nightmare- Which IMO sucks, but get on it early, the ride has LOW capacity.

Turtles- great old ride!

Enterprise (AkA Volcano) I hate this ride, totally afraid of it.

Pirate ship- fun fun!

Grand Prix- great bumper cars, not the best but fun!

Hope this helps!

Katie

Thanks that is going to be great help for my trip.
